My Top 5 Stress Management Tips

It’s no secret that 2020 has been a very stress filled year, and people are needing stress management more than ever. This past year has caused us all so much stress. I call it Coronavirus stress. It got me thinking, can stress kill you? So naturally I googled it and apparently it can lead to some pretty shocking effects on the body. We often forget how powerful the mind really is on our bodies. I think Stress management should be one of our top priorities to maintain good mental health. There are tonnes of articles on stress management online but I thought I’d put together some of the tips I use myself to help reduce my coronavirus stress.

LISTEN TO MUSIC

This is my number one go to when feeling stressed. I listen to music all day everyday. Even as I write this I have music playing in the background. Theres been so much new 2020 music thats been released, so there is no shortage of new songs to listen to. If you cant listen to music all day, use your lunch break or even 5 minutes of down time to stick on some music. Headphones are always a must to help get me really into the music.

GET OUT INTO NATURE

Nature is so healing to me. Whenever I’m having a bad day mentally, I love getting outside and being at one with nature far away from any technology. I encourage you, if you feel overwhelmed or stressed, go outside! Get your walking shoes and go out. Listen to the noises you hear, feel the wind at your finger tips. It will help even if it’s just for that moment.

TAKE TIME OFF

Whenever I’m feeling stressed or anxious I take paid time off from work if I can. I think time away from the day to day runnings of life is so important. Even if you cant take paid time off from work, take time off from other things. From your phone, from social media, from other people. Just take time away to regroup. Sometimes you need to take a step back in order to get a new perspective on situations.

PRACTICE SELF LOVE

A really important one for me as sometimes we forget to give ourselves that dose of self love. There are a few ways you can practice this through self care. Looking after your physical and mental health. Taking yourself out of situations that make you stressed or anxious. Take a bath, go for a walk, paint your nails, do your hair, put on a face mask or watch your favourite movie. Self love comes in various different forms. Do something you enjoy.

CONNECT WITH PEOPLE

Reach out to your friendship group or your family, or if you don’t have great relationships with those reach out to people online. One thing I have found is that the blogging community is full of so many amazing people who would be there for you if you needed them. Just having a simple conversation with a trusted person can help unload some of that stress you are facing.

What do you do to help you reduce your stress levels?

I hope this post can be helpful to you in reducing your own stress levels. Remember that it will get better.

    Most importantly,
    I do meditation,
    Long walk / running and
Offer prayers and ask guidance from God
This helps me out a lot to reduce my stress and make me feel light, relax and comfortable

  4. I think I need to get out in nature more. It’s hard because I have a fear of bugs. I just need to find time when they’re not out in abundance. Thank you for posting this, making me feel better already 😊🥰✨
