Lessons I’ve Learnt From My Friends

I did a blog post recently that was called ‘5 Lessons I’ve Learnt From My Parents‘ and I thought it would be a great idea to do the same post but based around things I’ve learnt from my friends. I’m so lucky to have been blessed with so many amazing friends throughout my life. Some just for a season and some for the long haul. I’m grateful for the lessons learnt in all of those friendships. My friends play such a huge role in my life so why not pass on the lessons and knowledge that I have learnt from them onto the world.

WE NEED TO LOOK AFTER OUR PLANET

I didn’t realise the importance of looking after our planet until I met my friend Lisa. We both went on a journey together of giving up meat, it was a long process but one we both had wanted to do for a while. She has now gone onto being vegan and I am vegetarian but she has taught me why its so important that we look after our planet and what lives on it. We only get to do life once, and we only get one earth. So we should respect the planet we live on and do everything we can to ensure that we are keeping it as healthy as possible.

PUT YOUR FAITH IN GOD ALWAYS

I haven’t spoken about this much on my blog yet but I thought it would be a great Segway into speaking about my faith. I believe in Jesus, I believed he died for our sins so that we could become new though him. My friend Amanda really helps me in my faith, and helps keep me on the straight and narrow path. It’s not always easy living this life of ours, but knowing I have a friend there who supports and points me in the right direction is something I am thankful for.

TURN THE OTHER CHEEK

Sometimes things aren’t worth getting upset over. Sometimes the best thing to do is walk away and move on from it. Eden has really helped me to understand this recently. She’s not only taught me to turn the other cheek, she teaches me that its okay to feel whatever feelings I’m feeling. She respects them and guides me on how to move forward. I think that is a talent in itself.

THINK LOGICALLY

My friend Laura is a very logical thinker. She always has a resolution to most problems in life because she thinks about them. She doesn’t act on emotions she acts on answers that are in black and white in-front of her, and thats one thing I admire about her. She’s taught me how to do that in so many situations in life. It’s so easy to react quickly to something thats happening, or make split second decisions but Laura has taught me how to think things through properly and how to do things with a clear mind.

WORK HARD

Being a hard worker doesn’t come naturally to everyone, but I’m so thankful that my friend Ryan. He is a shining example of how to work hard. He is one of the hardest workers I know. He gets it done, especially when he has a goal in mind or a finish line he is running to. Since I can remember he has worked hard and I really commend him for that.

What have you learnt from your friends? Have they taught you any valuable life lessons? If so, what are they?

Of course I have other friends who teach me valuable life lessons too, but these are the 5 that stick out to me. I want to thank those friends (and the ones not mentioned) that have impacted my life in any way. You are appreciated 💕

  1. It’s nice to have friends where you can get some realizations in life. One of the best things that I’ve learned from my friends was to love myself more, my best friend went through a tough break up. She was in a toxic relationship where she ended up ruining herself for that person. Now, every time we see each other, she’s in her best self and she kept telling us how she finally see her worth, she started taking care of her self more. 😊❤

  3. Awesome that you’ve learned things from your friends! That you’ve had some realizations with your friends. Yee, I definitely learned loads of things from my friend. Like for example I’d help them and then they’d help me the double back if I needed help, they’d remember all the little things, they also told me to live life and It’s okay to have mistakes! Because it really is. Marvelous post! (Every single one of them is)🤪 x

  4. It’s amazing to have friends that teach you something. Friends from whom you can learn a lot. I don’t have a lot of friends in my life but I surely have that one who teaches me a lot of things and is just like a mom to me. Haha. 😊😀🥰
