We have many different influences in life, it could be faith/religion, close circle of friends or the media. Influence comes in many ways, shapes and forms and can be both positive and negative. There are many different things in life that have an influence on who you are and how you choose to behave and think. We also [sometimes without knowing it] have influence on others, our actions and words have influence on almost everyone we come into contact with. Originally I wanted to write this post about social media influencers, but thought lets go a step further and discuss influence as the big picture.Read more
One of the most important things about blogging is your blog audience. Without your audience your blog won’t get to where you want it to go. You essentially rely on strangers to read and interact with your content in order for your blog to be grow and flourish. It’s a weird concept if you think about it too much. As a blogger you rely heavily on your blog audience to interact and share your content, but with that its up to us (as bloggers) to try to understand our audiences a little better.Read more
AND WELCOME TO THE END OF BLOGMAS
Without fail towards the end of December, we always hear the words ‘New Year’s resolutions’ being thrown around in conversations. It’s something thats talked about alot, and I’d really love to know where and who started this mess. When I was younger my resolutions was always to lose weight and get healthy, and always without fail I’d give up after a few weeks.
Perhaps thats why I’m not a fan of them. Because every time I have tried, I have failed. So really I don’t see the point because I know I will just fail it again. Why do we love to set ourselves up for failure? Why do we wait for a new year to make changes. It’s the same as “I’ll start on Monday” , which never works. I have never really been a fan of New Years resolutions, just purely for the fact that a new year doesn’t just wipe the slate clean. If you want to make changes then do it now rather than later.Read more
There are many things I’ll miss about 2020 , and thats a bold statement considering this year has been tough. We have been and still are living through a global pandemic. We have seen innocent people of colour die in the hands of those who swore to protect them. We have seen fires in several countries destroying homes and businesses. I mean I could go on and on describing the terrible things that have happened this year. But in amongst the bad stuff there have been some positives, and those are the things I’ll miss the most.
Instead of focusing on the bad stuff, I thought I’d end the year on a high. I want to share the things I’ll miss about 2020 as we go into 2021. And I want you to do the same too. Take some time to really think about the good stuff that has happened to you this year, even if it’s that you simply survived the year.Read more
For a long time now I have debated sharing this post I originally wrote in 2017, as you can tell by the title I lost my best friend. I went a whole 22 years of my life avoiding death and funerals, until the moment I stepped through those doors where we celebrated her life.
My intention behind posting this is to really share the story and share how my mental health suffered through this. But its also a story of hope and how I healed from this loss. It was a rough time in my life, I struggled and you’ll read that in the post shortly. I really want this to give people hope that things do get better after something traumatic happens in your life, I am an example of that. I hope you learn that healing takes time, and just like any wound it takes time to heal from it.
It’s hard for me to share something so personal, but I need to practice what I preach. I tell my readers all the time that being a good blogger means you need to be vulnerable, and you do. Which is why I’m choosing to share this with you. I hope it helps you and brings you hope that you can heal from whatever it is you’re going through, whether its a loss of a loved one, a funeral, or a tough situation.Read more
As 2020 closes, I want to share a gift to all of you. This gift is to be remembered at all times especially when dealing with dilemmas beyond your control. Your state of mind is everything. Develop it. Protect it. Value it. It’s a small gift from me to you; a reminder as you reach your dreams in 2021!
Hi, everybody! I’m Monique, a 20-year-old college student and blogger based on the Philippines. I talk about my struggles and experiences as an aspiring writer who just finished writing my very first novel last October. Aside from that, I also spread motivation and advice to young adults my age. I talk about all of this in my blog called www.lifebeginsattwenty.com. I’d appreciate it if you spare a few minutes of your time to visit it and read one or two articles.
I’m honoured to be partnered with Olivia on this and to be given an opportunity to showcase my ability to talk and write about my passions to an even larger audience. Also, I did an interview with Olivia on my blog! If you want to see it, click here.Read more
Were are back for open discussion Saturdays, and this week I want to know what brought you joy this week. I don’t know how your week went, only you know that, but often when I have a bad week or something didn’t go to plan, I like to do alot of reflection. I like looking back to see what went well instead of what didn’t.
Its important to do this on a regular basis as it can help you to re-focus and re-centre yourself. Even if its something small and something you’d consider ‘stupid’ then please still share it. If it made you happy, then it makes me happy too! Sometimes it’s good to have these moments to reflect and to really get some positive energy going in your life. For a moment say goodbye to the stress and negativity that might be surrounding you and just be in the moment. Think about some things that brought you joy this week, this morning or today even!
As always, I’ll start off by sharing mine and then you can share yours in the comments. I want this post to be a hub of happiness and positivity!Read more
