As bloggers we are constantly messing up and doing the wrong things. I have spoken openly about my blogging mistakes in the past and will be the first to hold my hands up to a mistake I have made. We are not perfect, and none of us have ever claimed to be either. But something I am noticing quite often recently in the blogging community, are bloggers who just get it wrong. Whether it’s the advice they share or the way they speak to their readers. There is this increase of bad advice and no thought going into posts and I’m sure I’m not the only one who has seen this happening either.Read more
Something I wish I had learnt earlier on in my blogging journey is how much I needed blogging friends. I think alot of us when we first start out blogging just do whatever. Which is expected, because when you go into something blindly you don’t really know the right or wrongs. I don’t know about you, but I did zero research before starting my blog. I just found WordPress, entered my details and created my site. Without actually thinking about the stuff I needed to do, in order to achieve my goals.
Having an email list is one of the most important things you need to do if you have a blog. I didn’t realise this when I first started blogging and it wasn’t until a few months ago that I decided to create one. Having an email list means you have a number of people you can directly market to. I know you have your blog for this, but there’s something about emails that make it that little bit more personal.Read more
When I first started blogging I really struggled to find easy and simple SEO tips. I didn’t even know what SEO was. But I remember seeing the word around everywhere. I found posts that said what it was, but I still didn’t understand it at all. It’s not until I upgraded my WordPress plan to Business and started using a SEO plugin that I really started to get it. Its one common thing that alot of bloggers say they struggle with, which is understandable because it is confusing!Read more
Protecting your privacy is something you should do regardless of whether you’re a blogger or not. Having a private life is a happy life. Nobody knows your wins, nobody knows your losses. How blissful does that sound? As bloggers we really do put ourselves out there. Some of us share personal things, health struggles, financial issues and even the family problems we face. This really opens us up to criticism and judgement from people on the internet.
I have had faced some instances in life where people have tried to find out things about me when I don’t know them. Thankfully this has never happened to me since I have started blogging. But, thats mainly because I have set those privacy boundaries that not many people can cross. You may not realise it yet, but blogging really makes you visible to the world. I mean, I share my whole name for the world to see. I show my face on my blog and Instagram. People know who I am and know my name. Thankfully thats it though and thats about as much as I let people know.Read more
To confess is to admit something not many people know [if anyone], and as bloggers we have so many confessions. Well I do anyway. There are things I do all of the time that you wouldn’t know from the other side of the computer screen. You don’t see me roll my eyes when the same person for the 5th time that week has left their link in my comment section. You don’t see the countless hours I spend worrying about whether readers will like my posts, or the late night thinking about featured images – weird I know.
Blogging is the biggest blessing and has saved me in so many different ways but there are things we all do that we won’t admit to. With anything in life you find downsides or things that annoy you, so today I want to share those things. And admit some of the bad habits I have or the things that tick me off. Because we are all humans after all!Read more
Blogging saved me, in so many ways. You can probably relate to what I’m about to write as I know alot of other bloggers feel the same. It gave me a sense of purpose and provided me with a life long hobby. It has connected me with new amazing people that I never would have met. It’s given me countless opportunities to spread love and good into this dark world. I am so thankful for that.Read more
Olivia, how do I increase traffic to my website? Well Anonymous 12625, I honestly have no idea. And that is usually how my conversations with people go, because I actually really don’t know.
There are so many variables as to how you grow your website and increase traffic. Thats why I wanted to create the 30 day blogging strategy so much.
