Self-confidence can generally be described as a sense of trust in yourself, and your ability to take control of your life. Sadly, many individuals lack this self-trust and are constantly in limbo about who they are and what they are capable of. With confidence, you’re most likely to develop the self-motivation needed to pursue all your goals without restraint. If you’ve been wondering how best to gain more confidence for your work, school, or life, this post has some helpful tips.Read more
To Feel beautiful is hands down one of the best feelings in the world, am I right?
There is something so uplifting about feeling confident in who you are and what you are. It’s deeper than outward appearance. Feeling beautiful is more than just what we look like, it’s about who we are as people. Society deems only one type of person beautiful, and thats the people you see on the front of magazine covers and on adverts. But let’s face it, the average person doesn’t look like that. And its easy for us to feel self doubt or insecurities, but that doesn’t mean we are less beautiful than they are.Read more
Do you feel as though you have good body positivity? Do you love yourself and the body that you are in? I know it can be hard to answer those questions, because for me it depends what day it is. Some days I wake up feeling great, I love myself and I embrace who I am. Others I wake up feeling the total opposite. And thats totally normal.
We are living in a world where there is one type of body that is admired by the masses and one type of body that is socially acceptable. And if our bodies don’t fit that standard it can leave us feeling less worthy, or not beautiful enough. Which should not be the case at all.Read more
At some point in our lives we have all experienced self-doubt. A time where we have caught ourselves saying ‘I can’t do this‘. It’s normal and natural to go through those feelings at some point in life. Self-doubt is something I have struggled with before and it happens to me periodically. Self-doubt is a feeling of lack of confidence and not feeling like you can do something. A few examples of when you might experience self doubt are when you are going for a job interview, when you meet new people or when you are starting a new hobby. Self-doubt is something that often comes with romantic relationships too.Read more
Do you struggle finding ways to show yourself love? It can be hard after years of hating the way that you are. I don’t think social media and the media in general today helps with that. They praise certain body types whilst bashing others. They help to set this expectation in peoples lives that we must look and be a certain way to ‘fit in’, and anybody who doesn’t conform that standard is seen as an outsider and unwanted.
In todays post we will be going through 20 things you can do to fall in love with yourself. Some easier than others but all beneficial to creating that great relationship with ones self. Self-love is hard and can be a long progress. It will mentally be tough and maybe physically, but the main thing is that you start. We must learn to wholeheartedly love ourselves and accept who we are as people. So much of self hate comes from the lack of confidence and love for ourselves, and it can stem from mental health illnesses too. I hope todays post inspires you to start your journey.Read more
I almost feel like I’m unintentionally doing a mini series with all of my self-love, self-confidence and self-acceptance posts. I think its so important in the current climate that we are kind to ourselves and show ourselves love. Society and ourselves put pressure on us to be a certain way, and when we don’t fit that mould we aren’t seen as worthy enough, which is of course not true. I had never heard of the phrase self-compassion until a few days ago, so decided to do my own research and then extend what I have learnt to here on my blog.Read more

Looking smaller than my age has always been an insecurity of mine. Most of my friends are either taller than me or have bigger bodies than mine. But recently, I have come to notice that most people actually look smaller than their ages but the only reason this disturbed me was because the people I surrounded myself with, never stopped to remind me of my size. Of course this wasn’t said to me directly, it was rather an indirect reference. The funny part about it, is that they weren’t even my friends just acquaintances.Read more
Hello, my name is Gabrielle Beverly and I am the author of “The Gabby Diaries” I am 29 years old, and I am a Capricorn. My hobbies include writing, sketching, blogging, reading, listening to music and podcasts, and binge-watching anything at this point.
My passion in life is to help other individuals understand, and learn how to cope with their mental illness. On my blog, I talk about topics dealing with overall health, both physical and mental. I also talk about the importance of self-care, and how my faith and spiritual growth has helped me on my journey of self-love and self-discovery.
I guess my journey originally started back in high school. Growing up, I was the chunky kid. The funny thing about it, I never got bullied for being plus size. Crazy as it seems, it’s the truth. Everything else that I was bullied for, my weight was never an issue. As I got older, I learned so much from my health class, and my P.E. teacher at the time. Then, I also learned from family, friends, and a group called SistaKeepers, that I need to learn to love myself first. Not only has this been a journey about losing weight, this has also been a journey of learning to love myself more, self-discovery, and self-care.Read more
