Owning a modular home can have so many benefits, but one of the downsides is that alot of them are smaller than the average home. This means that space can be limited and you have to learn how to maximise the space you do have. There are a few interesting ways to make more room in your modular home. In this post I will be sharing some tips on how to maximise space in your modular home.
This is a contributed post.
OPEN FLOOR PLANS
Open floor plans are a must in modular homes and can really make the difference in how much space you have. Having an open plan kitchen/living/ dining space can make it feel like you have more space to play with. Sometimes less doors make it feel like there’s more space in a room than if it had doors everywhere.
Having an open floor plan can make great for hosting large gatherings and having more of a sociable area too.
UTILISE MIRRORS
Mirrors play such a great part in creating an optical illusion of more space. Use mirrors where you can, and see how the space looks and feels more open and bigger. Mirrors are great to use anyway especially near doors in and out of your home. It helps having a space to check how you look before you leave your home too!
BASEMENTS
If you can build a basement for your modular home then do it! Ask your mortgage broker Hobart to fix that into the price when you’re taking out your mortgage. Basements are great to have to add more storage and space into your home. They can double as second living rooms, additional bedrooms or a quiet space to get away from the hustle and bustle of upstairs.
Adding a basement is something you should consider when purchasing a modular home.
Do you own a modular home? How do you maximise space?
