I heard recently that when we learn, it’s not by hearing about something, or even doing something. We learn (and remember) by reflecting on what we did and recognizing what we learned. It’s so easy to remember the negative things that happen in our life because we often ruminate on how bad it made us feel. But why don’t we make an effort to remember the positive and joyful moments in our life?

What Brings You Joy In Life?

So many times I have started writing a list of things to be grateful for, and I have found that once you start writing, you cant stop listing the things that brings you joy. The act itself of starting to think, and acknowledge the good we have in life can be hard to start. Often times we are surrounded by negative things, and bad situations that it clouds out the good we actually have. Whenever I feel like I am going through a hard time, I find it so beneficial to remind myself of the good I have in life. The great people I am surrounded by. The job I have, the life I get to live. Those are the things that matter.

10 Things That Brought Me Joy This Week

Were are back for open discussion Saturdays, and this week I want to know what brought you joy this week. I don’t know how your week went, only you know that, but often when I have a bad week or something didn’t go to plan, I like to do alot of reflection. I like looking back to see what went well instead of what didn’t.

Its important to do this on a regular basis as it can help you to re-focus and re-centre yourself. Even if its something small and something you’d consider ‘stupid’ then please still share it. If it made you happy, then it makes me happy too! Sometimes it’s good to have these moments to reflect and to really get some positive energy going in your life. For a moment say goodbye to the stress and negativity that might be surrounding you and just be in the moment. Think about some things that brought you joy this week, this morning or today even!

5 Things That Bring Me Joy

I try to wakeup everyday with a grateful heart. We are given a fresh start everyday, how lucky we are. It’s important that I find small or big things in my day that bring me joy. When I was at my lowest mentally, each day I’d tell myself what I was thankful for and why. It helped bring so much perspective to so many bad days.
