It’s not often that I talk about me on my blog, not in detail anyway. As many of you know, I prefer to keep my private life private when it comes to blogging. But I really enjoy reading posts about the person behind the blog, which is why I did the face behind the blog tag recently. That post mainly focused on blogger topics, so thought I would share some facts with you today which you wont have known about me. I really enjoy getting to know you all, so what better way to do that than to first share some things about myself!
It will be interesting to find out which of the facts you are surprised about and which you would have guessed.
I’M 5FT3
I am the shortest person in my family. I’m 5ft3 and always get made fun of for it. At one point in my life I was 5ft4 but shrunk in my 20’s. Is that a thing? It’s surprising that I’m short because my dad is 6ft3, so I must have gotten my short genes from my mom. I always have problems buying jeans or leggings to fit my legs because they’re so small, its a real short girl issue.
I AM JAMAICAN
Nobody can ever tell my ethnicity from seeing me or seeing photos of me. I always get told that I look European, Spanish or Greek. My dads side of the family are from Jamaica, and my moms families background are from France. Alot of my family members have such darker skin than me, mines quite olive.
I’M A CHRISTIAN
This might not come as a surprise to some, especially if you’ve been here for a while. I have mentioned it a couple of times on my blog. I am a christian and have been for the last 8 years of my life. It’s the best thing I ever did. 10/10 would recommend!
I WEAR GLASSES
You would never know this as my blog reader because I hardly ever take photos with my glasses on. I have really bad vision in my left eye so have to wear glasses to help make it stronger. I wear a contact lens in my left eye too when I’m not wearing glasses. I’m even earring glasses as I write this post!
I HAVE TWO TATTOOS
When people find out I have tattoos, they always seem shocked. Like I don’t seem like the person who would have them. Although I don’t know what ‘type’ of people are supposed to have tattoos! I always said I wasn’t ever going to get a tattoo, but I had quite a big life event happen and it was from that, that made me get them. I wont share them today as I don’t feel comfortable sharing the meaning behind them, but they’re my favourite reminders!
MY NAME ISN’T OLIVIA
Olivia isn’t even my name. It’s an alias name I use for privacy reasons.
JUST KIDDING! Olivia is my name haha!
Were you surprised at any of the facts I shared?
Now its your turn to share some facts about you that your readers wouldn’t ever know. Only share what you feel comfortable sharing!
As many of you know, I am participating in Blogmas this year. Over on my Instagram account I have shared my blogmas calender! I thought I’d share it here too, so you guys can see when I’ll be posting and when I’ll be taking a break!
Thanks so much for reading! I hope you learnt something new about me today!

I love these kinds of posts too! So nice to be able to get to know the blogger.
I’m short too, same height as you, and also have that problems with finding pants that fit my length lol
Isn’t it sooo annoying. They fit everywhere else but I end up having to roll them up at the ankles!
That’s me all the time.
The struggle is real!
Yesss.. and I don’t like to roll up my pants It’s such a struggle lol
I love getting to know you more! These types of posts are always fun to do and read 😊 Something about me that I haven’t shared in my blog yet is that I can wink with my right eye but not my left eye and I have the biggest feet of anyone in my family 😃
Yes, they are some of my favourite to read too! No way really?? I wonder why 🤣
What size are they?
Size 10.5 wide in USA! I got these crazy long “finger toes” and my feet are wide too. Not sure what that converts to in the UK or Europe. Everyone else wears between a 7 and 9.5. No one else has my weird long toes though. Makes me unique 😂
I converted it and it is quite big! I am a US size 8 which is a UK 6. Yes, you are very unique and special. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise 🤣
Thank you Olivia 😊❤ You are very special too!
Ooooh! So nice to read more about you!! We’re apparently the same height 😅 and both have a horrible eye
And are both Christian!
I knew there was a reason were friends 😜
I use an alias for privacy as well. I love it. And people can definitely rock their look in eyeglasses. I bet you do too. 🤗
I was kidding about that point! Although sometimes I wish that did!
Im 5’1 and yes its so difficult finding pants! I go to a seamstress to get them fixed! I am also blind as a bat. Been wearing glasses since I was 9. I have 3 boys ages 10, 9 and 1. My kids are multiracial as I am hispanic and my husband is half Irish and half West Indian (virgin islands) and i love reading fun facts!
Its a common short person problem! Awesome to get to know more about you Azilde!
😆 yes! I love reading your blog and getting to know you as well Olivia ❤️
Thank you so much!!
Whaaaaaat? Olivia isn’t your real name? That totally took me my surprise! 😳
I’m also the shortest in my family at 5’4. So I totally get your pain!
Haha, if you read underneath that point I was joking 🤪 It is my name!
Does everyone else make fun of you for it too??
Hahaha damn, I was so shocked I immediately ran to the comments instead of reading on! 🤣🙈
They all do – especially my almost 6ft tall younger brothers. 🥺
Hahahahah! Sorry for any confusion!
I think its a sibling thing to make fun of eachother in general 🤣
I love reading this kind of posts✨✨
I was surprised pretty much with all of it especially with the Jamaican Heritage, I thought you were full English.
Can you speak french?
Oh Olivia😂You gave me a fright with “my name isn’t Olivia” imagine that?
I really enjoyed getting to know you more🧡 xx
I love reading them too!
Alot of people are surprised when I tell them too! I can speak a little bit of French, but mainly because I studied it at school!
Haha, so many people thought I was being real, nope it is my name 🤣
Thanks so much for reading! xx
Happy to know you more Olivia💗💗A good read👏👏
So glad 💛
💛💛
I love getting some insight into the bloggers whose posts I enjoy reading. Thanks for sharing. I’m doing Blogmas too. I look forward to reading your posts.
You were actually the one who inspired me to do blogmas. I remember you commented on one of my posts saying you had just finished half of your posts for Blogmas and it gave me the inspiration I needed!
😀
Yes it is all a surprise, Olivia, but a nice one. I want be shearing any of mine since I write my blog to provide an interesting, even fascinating knowledge. I don’t think you look -up my literary posts, have you? I will like it, I promise.
Thank you.
Joanna
Not to worry! Just glad to have you here!
A think is sure you’re pristine woman Olivia or… what will be?
not sure about a pristine woman haha
I think so hahaha, take care…
I enjoyed reading this post! Thanks for sharing. 😊🌼💛
Thanks so much for reading!
I love posts like this! I am 5 foot 2 so I totally feel you on the finding pants issues! Ugh it sucks! The rolling the bottom of my pants style never goes out of season for me ;)!! How cool! You’re Jamaican? I’m half Trinidadian and half Pakistani! I LOVE the name Olivia. My niece couldn’t pronounce my name (Aleeya) so I was called Olivia for a couple of years! Have a beautiful day!
Isn’t it sooo annoying. Companies make jeans etc for long legs, but what about us short legs?!
That is a cool mix! Which side is your fathers and which is your mothers?
Aw thats so cute! I really love your name! I can see how it would sound like Olivia!
Mom’s Trinidadian, Dad’s Pakistani.
I love lucky brand jeans because they offer a petite size as well as Levi!! lol
Excellent share, Olivia! And I have two tattoos also! ❤️😉
Awesome! Were twins! Wonder if they’re the same 🤪
Wow… It’s so great to know these things about you. I would never have guessed that you are Jamaican
😃❤❤
Right! Nobody ever knows 🤣of course I am a mixture of various ethnicities too haha
I’m 5’2″ and sometime it’s really handy at work. I work on aircraft and it’s not always easy to get into small places to fix something. I can get under the floor and work standing under the wing a lot easier than someone who’s 6 feet tall. Remember, you can always get a step ladder to be taller, but getting shorter is impossible 😉
You got me there with the last one😂
Hey Olivia!
Great to know more of you … thanks for sharing. I was going to do “The Face Behind The Blog” as my WordPress first anniversary which comes up in April 2021! Till then, 😍
Yes you should do it!!☺️☺️
Patiently waiting till then. 😊
Here’s me thinking “oh that’s so smart re using an alias” haha! Cool to read a little more about you 🥰
The alias name part caught me by surprise 😂
Hahaha I think you weren’t the only one!
From your image, I never would have guessed you were Jamaican. Yup, people shrink. I’m still getting used to going down an inseam in my trousers.
So many people have no idea!
Is it normal to shrink at 25 though?! Haha
What a fantastic post. It is always fun reading things like this because I am always pleasantly surprised 🙂
Thanks so much! I really love them too!
I hope you do more 🙂
Well sux things about me im the last birn in the family of five which puts more pressure on me..i love writting poems my big wish is to get published or travel through poetry or be sponsored…in person i dont really have much confidence
I hope you get the confidence to do that in the future!
Thank you alot ❤🙏🏿🙏🏿
Very interesting. The name thing threw me off.
Hahaha I think it threw a few people off!
Good tips your
Thanks!
You express yourself very amazingly, nice blog post. Please checkout my blog posts too, thank you
Haha. Now I don’t know what name to believe Olivia… LoL. Pretty surprising to learn that you’re from Jamaica.
Have you ever lived there?
I love this! I keep my life pretty private as well but think I might need to stop being so hidden!
Sometimes it can have a negative effect, as in you’re way too closed off! Which isn’t always good!
I’m 5’1, so I definitely understand your short girl probs! It’s been nice to get to know you a bit more 🙂 x

😅 Its very comforting knowing there are other women out there who face the same struggles! x
Fashions change, Hairstyles, clothes amongst many more. Some people do regret getting tattoos, others don’t. Its a personal choice. At least now with have the technology to remove ink.
The being Jamaican part surprised me. But I’ve learnt a lot this year especially that even being of mixed heritage or biracial in your case (correct me if I’m wrong) can appear differently genetically.
Oh for sure. You can’t judge anyone by their skin colour🤣
Oh of course not 😅
