How to Not Feel Overwhelmed as a New Blogger

I remember like it was yesterday when I was a new blogger, I felt so overwhelmed at everything there is to learn that it made me feel very anxious. I remember seeing so many established bloggers on WordPress, thinking I want to be just like them! And here I am nearly 9 months later and I have finally now just started to find my feet with blogging. I feel like as more of an established blogger now, I really want to help and provide advice to new bloggers or bloggers who just need some help. It can be hard navigating blogging with all the other things going on in life.

I think it’s also important that expectations are set too. I have met and spoken with so many bloggers that join because they just want to make money and get free stuff. It’s great to have goals and ambitions like that, but a lot of work comes before you get to that stage. So, for todays post I thought I’d share some tips on how to stop yourself from feeling overwhelmed as a new blogger.

TAKE YOUR TIME

As mentioned in the intro, one of the best things you can do is take your time. I found myself rushing when I first started blogging because I just wanted to do the best and be the best. But with anything in life, these things take time. You can’t just expect to be popular and get loads of comments and views when you first start. There are the odd occasions where people do this, but its very few and far between.

Take your time as a new blogger and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Putting that pressure on yourself is one way to make you feel overwhelmed and usually thats why people give up in the first few months. I don’t think people realise how much work blogging is and the various costs that are involved with it. So, relax and take things slow.

Remember, slow and steady wins the race.

SET A SCHEDULE

Schedule, schedule, schedule. Schedules are your best friend when it comes to blogging. One blogging mistake I made when first starting was failing to set myself a schedule. Not only does this schedule hold you accountable, it also helps to balance everything too. You have a clear and set time when you post and it allows you to put time aside for everything else too. Often new bloggers try to do everything at once and it leads to burn outs. So, be sure to set yourself a good schedule and try to keep to it if you can.

A few months ago I released a 30 day blogging plan which is perfect for new bloggers just starting out. It has a 30 day schedule already created for you, and it has days and times and what to do on each day. If you’re interested in purchasing, click below!

GET TO KNOW OTHERS

When writing this post, I kept thinking about the things I remember doing when I felt overwhelmed when I was new to blogging. And one thing that stuck out to me was making blogging friends. I remember some days feeling so unsure about what to do with my blog, and having my friends there helping and supporting me really helped.

One of the most important things you can do as a new blogger is make connections with others. Your blogging friends will become your support system. And those you go to in time of need. Yes, you probably have real life friends you can talk to, but they wont relate to those weird and wonderful blogging problems we all face. Other bloggers are really so important on your blogging journey.
