Are you preparing to sell your home? Here are some of the crucial steps that you must take.
This is a contributed post.
DECLUTTER
The first thing that you’re going to need to do is start decluttering your home as soon as you decide you’re going to be moving. If you know that you have a lot of items that you’re going to be getting rid of and a lot of general waste, then you should look into skip hire so that you have somewhere for it all to go. This is much more convenient than having to take it to the dump all the time.
Decluttering your home is not a difficult process, but it can be long and time consuming. If you’re not sure what the best way to declutter your home is, you should start with one of the most basic methods. Look at the item, and if it doesn’t have any kind of monetary value, sentimental value, doesn’t have a use, or doesn’t make you happy, then you don’t need it.
IMPROVE THE CURB APPEAL
You need to think about the curb appeal of your home too. The curb appeal is always going to be the first impression that buyers receive of your home. Without a high level of curb appeal, it’s likely that your home will be immediately dismissed or avoided by any home viewers.
GET A FEW VALUATIONS
Next, you should think about getting at least a couple valuations for your home. With a few, honest evaluations that you can trust, you can make sure that your home is put on the market for the right price. If you don’t do this, then it’s possible that you might immediately struggle to get attention from buyers because your home doesn’t match its actual market value.
The estate agent that you choose may provide you with a valuation. However, it can be worth exploring alternative companies as well. You should never stray from getting a second or even a third opinion here. You should also get your home revalued based on any changes that you make.
SPEAK TO A HOME STAGER
The final thing that we’re going to say is that you should speak to a home stager . They know the best ways to present your home so that it looks more appealing to the general market. This might mean arranging your furntiure certain ways, putting things in cupboards if they are cluttering up the area, and so many other things.
If you are looking for a quick sale, then you’re going to need a home stager to make the space perfect, so that the pictures that are taken turn out as appealing as possible. This should draw the largest number of people in, getting you the sale that you want asap.
Hopefully now, you see some of the steps that you are going to have to take before you can sell your home. There are a whole bunch of things that you have got to do before you’re going to be ready to sell your home, and we recommend ticking them off a list as you complete each one to keep yourself organized. We wish you the very best of luck, and hope that your home sells fast once you have made all of these changes.
Love this Olivia! I never thought of a home stager – but that’s actually such a great idea!
Thanks so much!
Some great ideas Olivia. Like Zainab, I wouldn’t have thought about a Home Stager, but it does make sense as you want to optimise any selling points/features of your home.
Of course!
