Do you ever find yourself in situations saying it is what it is? I find myself saying this when I get let down or if plans don’t play out like I thought they would. I mean the whole of 2020 was a big it is what it is wasn’t it? Because of the year we had in 2020 I think we all have this mentality now to some extent. We all had plans that year to do great things and see family and make memories and instead it brought loss, death, heartbreak and isolation. And it really reminded me that we really aren’t in control of our lives. We can control our now but not so much our future.Read more
One thing I really dislike about society now-a-days is how it makes you feel bad. It makes you feel bad if you’re not slim enough, if you don’t earn X amount of money etc. Society makes you feel you’re not successful or you’re behind everyone else if you’re going at a different pace. Social media has a huge play in this because you constantly see everyone online buying houses, having babies and getting married. Its a natural and human thing to think, well why am I not there yet? There are so many things in life you shouldn’t feel bad about. And this post is your reminder.Read more
Mental health has always been a hot topic on the internet and generally in life. But due to the recent coronavirus pandemic it has become even more talked about, and rightly so. People are suffering even more than before, and people are finding it really difficult to get the help they need. The usual facilities or help lines are closed and people have been left jobless, even homeless with mental health problems. There are many things I’ll be doing differently this year, I find There is something about New Years that gives me this sense of a fresh start. I don’t know whether it’s the pandemic and everything else that happened last year, but something in me wants to make changes and stick to them. I really hope the rest of the world takes on this view too. We made so many positive changes to the world and our environment from being forced to slow down or stop. I really hope we don’t forget everything we learnt.
I have talked about before why I don’t set New Years resolutions, so these aren’t resolutions as such, but smaller more meaningful goals. Personally, I think it’s always a good thing to keep changing and advancing into new versions of yourself. It’s important to not stay the same.Read more
Looking back at 2020, I admit we have had it pretty rough. It’s been anything but normal for us. When I turned 25 this year I swore it would be the best year of my life. My favourite number is 25, so I always said that year would be a year I wouldn’t forget. And I wasn’t wrong, but its unforgettable for all of the wrong reasons.Read more
Talking to my future self on my blog was never something I saw myself doing. And to be honest its quite out of the ordinary for me to think forward. I’m more of a let’s look at how far we have come than let’s see how far we still have to go. As I get older I’m constantly recognising things about myself I want to change and evolve.
I think it’s good to always be changing, as long as its for the better. People often get so offended when others say “You’ve changed”, but not me. I take that as a compliment. Why would I want to be the same person they knew 5 years ago? I think it’s such a privilege in life to be evolving into a better person, I don’t know about you but I don’t want to remain the same.Read more
At some point in our lives we have all experienced self-doubt. A time where we have caught ourselves saying ‘I can’t do this‘. It’s normal and natural to go through those feelings at some point in life. Self-doubt is something I have struggled with before and it happens to me periodically. Self-doubt is a feeling of lack of confidence and not feeling like you can do something. A few examples of when you might experience self doubt are when you are going for a job interview, when you meet new people or when you are starting a new hobby. Self-doubt is something that often comes with romantic relationships too.Read more
