Things I’d Say to My Younger Self

Things I’d Say to My Younger Self

I know writing to your younger self is such a cliche and overdone thing, but I have really wanted to do this for a while. I had so many expectations of how life was going to go when I was younger that have not been met. And I’m not sure if its because of my own expectations that I set or the fact nobody told me adult life would be this way. I did not sign up for this.

I guess as kids we are sheltered from alot of things. Knowing about sex and relationships and all of the ugly and evil things of this world. But I wish I would have known how hard growing up would be, and that it wouldn’t be easy. Perhaps my parents let me watch too many princess movies or reality tv and thats what warped my view of life. I mean I thought I’d be married with kids at 25, and for the record I am nowhere near ready for that.

It is What It is

It is What It is

Do you ever find yourself in situations saying it is what it is? I find myself saying this when I get let down or if plans don’t play out like I thought they would. I mean the whole of 2020 was a big it is what it is wasn’t it? Because of the year we had in 2020 I think we all have this mentality now to some extent. We all had plans that year to do great things and see family and make memories and instead it brought loss, death, heartbreak and isolation. And it really reminded me that we really aren’t in control of our lives. We can control our now but not so much our future.

How To Blog When You’ve Hit a Wall

How To Blog When You’ve Hit a Wall

It’s a very common thing to hit a blog wall, and it can happen alot if we aren’t careful. Sometimes we just get to a point where we can’t do it anymore. I’ve felt this over the last few months. I have noticed my motivation and desire to blog has been overshadowed by other things going on in my personal life. Its taken my attention away from blogging and made me feel like putting less effort into my blogs.

4 Blogging Habits We Should Leave in 2020

4 Blogging Habits We Should Leave in 2020

As bloggers we all have blogging habits. Things we do everyday that revolve around our blogs. Whether it’s having WordPress open when doing work or checking stats from the second you wake. There are many other things that you can probably think of when it comes to your blog. And whether we admit it or not, we have all formed an addiction to blogging and there are habits that come with our addiction.

Sometimes habits can be formed without us even realising it, whether they are good habits or bad. I think it’s important to acknowledge these habits and recognise that some of them are not needed and are more annoying than anything else.

Who Influences Your Life?

Who Influences Your Life?

We have many different influences in life, it could be faith/religion, close circle of friends or the media. Influence comes in many ways, shapes and forms and can be both positive and negative. There are many different things in life that have an influence on who you are and how you choose to behave and think. We also [sometimes without knowing it] have influence on others, our actions and words have influence on almost everyone we come into contact with. Originally I wanted to write this post about social media influencers, but thought lets go a step further and discuss influence as the big picture.

6 Things I’ll be Doing Differently This Year

6 Things I’ll be Doing Differently This Year

There are many things I’ll be doing differently this year, I find There is something about New Years that gives me this sense of a fresh start. I don’t know whether it’s the pandemic and everything else that happened last year, but something in me wants to make changes and stick to them. I really hope the rest of the world takes on this view too. We made so many positive changes to the world and our environment from being forced to slow down or stop. I really hope we don’t forget everything we learnt.

I have talked about before why I don’t set New Years resolutions, so these aren’t resolutions as such, but smaller more meaningful goals. Personally, I think it’s always a good thing to keep changing and advancing into new versions of yourself. It’s important to not stay the same.

Blogging Mistakes I’ve Made so You Don’t Have to

Blogging Mistakes I’ve Made so You Don’t Have to

When it comes to blogging I have made my fair share of blogging mistakes, but honestly I think we all have. Sometimes I don’t even know if I’d call them mistakes. Because I learnt something from each of them. Let’s rebrand mistakes as ‘lessons learnt’. It sounds alot better.

I’ve posted alot of content this year, and along the way have had many lessons learnt moments. And for todays blog I’ll be going through some of them. I want to do this so that you can learn from the blogging mistakes that I’ve made. And so you can make sure you don’t make the same mistakes I did. Its so easy to fall into bad habits, and it’s easy to make mistakes without even realising.

Why I Don’t Set New Year’s Resolutions

Why I Don’t Set New Year’s Resolutions

Without fail towards the end of December, we always hear the words ‘New Year’s resolutions’ being thrown around in conversations. It’s something thats talked about alot, and I’d really love to know where and who started this mess. When I was younger my resolutions was always to lose weight and get healthy, and always without fail I’d give up after a few weeks.

Perhaps thats why I’m not a fan of them. Because every time I have tried, I have failed. So really I don’t see the point because I know I will just fail it again. Why do we love to set ourselves up for failure? Why do we wait for a new year to make changes. It’s the same as “I’ll start on Monday” , which never works. I have never really been a fan of New Years resolutions, just purely for the fact that a new year doesn’t just wipe the slate clean. If you want to make changes then do it now rather than later.
