The Best Way to Support Bloggers This Christmas

Whether they are doing Blogmas or they are posting Christmas content, as bloggers we know now more than ever that we need your support. No matter the time of year or season, we are always striving to create good content for our websites. Theres something about Christmas content though that requires that extra level of research and time put into the posts.

There are alot of bloggers out there who have spend countless days and nights preparing for Blogmas and December. It took me nearly 2 months to write all of my 25 Blogmas posts. Some bloggers depend on their blogs for their income, and with that extra time they’re putting in, its up to us to make sure we are supporting where we can.

So for todays post, I thought why not share some ways you can support bloggers during this Christmas season. Of course these tips can be used throughout the year too, but it’s important to have a focus on the Christmas season. Because this is blogmas after all!

DO THE USUAL

The usual is what you normally do. Liking posts, commenting, sharing and re-blogging etc. Don’t stop at Christmas, keep it going. I know it can be overwhelming trying to keep up with so much Christmas content, but I cant stress enough how it’s so important to bloggers to end the year on a high.

As I have mentioned, alot of us have taken so much time and effort to get the content ready for December and have probably sacrificed alot of time to get it done. So the least we can do is show love to them and let them know were enjoying their content. As a blogger I really appreciate being told that my readers like my content or that its helped them in any way, it gives me a boost to keep going!

LEND A HELPING HAND

Tis the season to help others! I always say this but as bloggers we are a team. How can we be in competition with one another if were playing for the same side? As a new blogger I remember seeking advice and help from other bloggers and found it was so important at the beginning of my journey to create those connections.

I am so happy to help other bloggers, and even encourage people to seek advice from me. I’m in no means an expert but I try to help when I can. Lend a helping hand, or even ask if a blogger needs help even if they haven’t asked you. Its such a great way to show kindness to one other.

USE SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media is such a great tool to use when you are wanting to share something with alot of people. I often use social media as a opportunity to share other blogs I’m loving. Here are some ideas on how you can use social media to help promote and support other bloggers:

– Do Instagram lives with other bloggers
– Share others content on your story
– Interact with their stories and posts
– Comment, share and like their posts

INCLUDE THEIR LINKS ON YOUR BLOG

One thing I really love doing is helping other bloggers promote their blog. You can do this through may different ways, including sharing their blog on your blog. Prehaps do a round up of your favourite bloggers of the year or share some of your favourite blog posts on your blog too.

Anything you can do to help promote their pages will help alot. Often times bloggers are stressed and worried about various things, so showing that you’re loving their content and supporting them will help in the crazy Christmas rush.

How do you show support to fellow bloggers? And as a blogger, how do you like people showing support to you?

As I’m doing Blogmas this year, I realise how important it is for other bloggers to support one another. I know the hard work that goes behind it, and the planning and then the behind the scenes running of the blog. Which is why I wanted to share this post today.

  1. Wonderful post Olivia ❤️
I like and comment for my fellow bloggers blog posts whenever I find interesting posts.I think this is the way we can encourage them. If someone interacts with me after they like my post I feel elated.
    Happy Sunday Olivia 👍

  2. Such an awesome list of things to do to support other bloggers Olivia. Asides just links, one thing I like to do is link to their blog if they’ve written about the subject in the past. So, instead of linking a Wikipedia article about Christmas, I’d rather link to a blogger friend’s writeup.

This isn’t always reciprocated but it makes me feel good.

    Compliments of the season.

  3. I recently started writing a monthly roundup of the best blog posts I read the previous month. It’s a great way to spread the word about other bloggers and it’s always very much appreciated.

  6. I appreciate your article. I think this is something that is “not said,” but needed to be said. It is very thoughtful and helpful to those of us who are new to blogging. I appreciate your reminder to the professional writer/creator, whether as a skill or art or both.

  7. I’m always happy to help out fellow bloggers, and I’m always commenting and liking posts 🙂 But I still feel like I can do more. I’m not sure about sharing other people’s content, I’ve never done it.

  8. Definitely agree with these points, especially the one about lending a helping hand! I am always grateful for the blogging help people have given me which is why I am happy to do the same for others. It is definitely important that we support as many bloggers as we can, even if they aren’t taking part in Blogmas or doing Christmas posts!

I do want to say that although including other peoples links on your blogs is a great idea, it’s important to remember that you should first ask the person whether they are happy to have their blogging link on your blogs before you do anything. I personally would want someone to ask me first before posting my link on their blog, and I am sure that is the same for others 🙂

    1. Yes for sure 🙂 Helping each other out is really important!

I think it depends on the blogger. I wouldn’t mind if someone links my post in theirs without asking. It happens to me quite alot and I really appreciate when people do it! I don’t think people do it to be disrespectful or rude, they want to share your work. If I don’t want it on there after they have done it, I can always email and ask them to take it down🤗
