Never before has it been more important to take care of both your physical and emotional health. It is not every day that we go through a global pandemic. Even though we are on the other side of it now, the repercussions of the past couple of years are clearly taking their toll on the majority of us. Nevertheless, we are getting through it and coming out the other side.
We are all aware that once the temperature begins to drop, our minds instinctively turn to ways in which we may protect ourselves from being sick and maintain our health for the duration of the winter. As a result, what are some things you can do to get your mind and body in shape so that you are better able to ward off seasonal diseases and protect your health both now and in the future?
GET PLENTY OF EXERCISE
The most essential step, and one that the vast majority of people are aware they should perform but do not always carry it out. Keeping your body active on a daily basis. Even if it is only by going for walks on a consistent basis. This will help you maintain your physical fitness throughout the winter months and ensure that you remain healthy. You do not even require any extra equipment. The only thing you need to do to increase your fitness levels and your overall health is to exercise for a total of 150 minutes per week at a moderate intensity while keeping your heart rate elevated.
EAT A HEALTHY AND BALANCED DIET
The combination of shorter days, longer nights, and the absence of anything to look forward to may cause many of us to seek out foods that provide us with a sense of warmth and security. To maintain good health throughout the winter months, it is essential to consume a wide variety of foods, each of which should have the necessary amounts of vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients.
Despite the fact that it is recommended that you get the majority of the nutrients you need from a wide variety of foods, dietary supplements are an option for people who are unable to do so owing to dietary limitations or preferences. It is feasible to replace any necessary nutrients that you are not getting from the food you eat by adding vitamins and minerals as dietary supplements to your daily routine. Your body’s natural defences can be strengthened with the help of different dietary supplements, such as Delta 9 THC which can also provide you with additional energy and other benefits. Consuming vegetables with leafy greens, vitamin D, and green tea are all wonderful natural defences that can assist your body in fighting illnesses.
ALWAYS BE SURE TO WASH YOUR HANDS
There has never been a period in which the necessity to wash one’s hands has been more obvious than it is right now. However, this is one of the most powerful defences you have against a wide variety of seasonal diseases, not only those produced by pandemics that affect the entire planet. If you make it a habit to wash your hands after touching things or handling products that other people have, you may be able to avoid getting sick for a much longer period of time during the colder months. This is because many people will be suffering from minor colds, viruses, and the flu this winter. You will provide yourself with an added layer of defence if you make it a point to practise good hygiene on a daily basis.
GET ENOUGH SLEEP
Getting enough sleep is critical to protecting one’s health. Tiredness makes your body more susceptible to illnesses like the common cold and the flu, despite the fact that many parents are already accustomed with the sensation of sleep deprivation. It is essential to your health that you get an adequate amount of sleep. When you give your body the time and space it needs to repair and recover from any injuries or illnesses it may have had, you give yourself the best possible chance of warding off any diseases that you may come into touch with during the colder months.
I do all of the above, ideally i’d like to get more sleep but with my husbands work schedule (he works midnights) it’s not possible.. Also i’m avoiding drama (as per usual) and not “taking on” other peoples problems/issues.. that helps! LOL!!
Sometimes sleep is the hardest thing to get! I struggle sometimes, it can make adulting hard lol
