5 Ways to a Better Personal Wellbeing

What does a healthy lifestyle look like to you? It looks different from person to person, but you’d think it’d be the same for everybody. A healthy lifestyle looks different because we all have different priorities. There are studies that will tell you that sleep is the most important thing to well-being, but others will tell you that therapy is actually the most important thing you could do for your mental health.

This is a contributed post.

There are articles that will demonstrate why a vegetarian diet is the best step towards well-being, while others will tell you that a carnivorous one would be the best option. There is conflicting information everywhere you go, and that’s because human beings are not linear. We do not have the same needs, we do not have the same wants, and we do not have the same outcomes when we adjust our habits. Either way, it’s important that you understand how you can make sure that you have a healthy lifestyle and that you feel better within yourself. And here are some of those things that can ensure that that’s the case for you.

A HEALTHY DIET

As I said, human beings are not linear, so what is healthy for one is not going to be healthy for another. It’s important, however, that you understand what health means for you. For example, if your body does better maintaining a dairy free diet, then leaning into that is a good idea for your health. A healthy diet that is balanced with vegetables, fruits, whole grains, healthy fats, nuts and occasional junk food, but not the staple of the diet is something you should be looking to emulate.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

You need to get your body moving if you want to feel healthier on the inside and the outside, and that means you need to indulge in exercise. However, if you are a person who hate to exercise, as most of us are, you need to consider how you can get your body moving anyway. While you may not want to work out, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be going for walks or getting yourself into nature. A healthy amount of activity is going to help you to feel better within yourself.

A HEALTHY BODY WEIGHT

Obesity is very much a disease and is not something that we can readily control. However, if you are conscious about your weight and you are ensuring that you maintain a healthy body weight, you should be able to maintain your well-being. At the same time, you will avoid diseases such as diabetes and you will also avoid things such as high blood pressure. Which can put a lot of pressure on your body and on your heart.

GIVING UP BAD HABITS

A good step to take towards well-being is to give up the bad habits that you have taken on over the years. Smoking, for example, is a habit you can readily give up because there is no such thing as a healthy amount of smoking.

EVERYTHING IN MODERATION

Everything in moderation. A healthy person has an adequate amount of sleep, an adequate amount of exercise with an adequate amount of junk food and alcohol. You might not feel ready to give up everything just in the quest of being healthier, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. Alcoholism is a big problem, so looking at how much you are consuming and judging that based on what’s healthy, as said by your doctor, is important.

  2. I’d say stay active, stay connect to friends, and aways do what you believe is right..and stand up for that…….I always struggle with diet….the more I learn the more I want to change….dairy, I love milk and cereal, but I know dairy is awful….meat, the same thing…so lots of veggies……..but, well, can I cntrol that craving?….
