It’s a known fact that most people in the world hate Mondays. Monday signifies the end of the weekend, the start of a new working week, and 5 more days till the weekend. This alone can be a really daunting fact to some people and can be a really scary feeling. Have you ever heard of the saying Monday blues? Typically when you say someone has the “blues” it’s referring to them feeling sad, or upset or just not themselves. Monday blues is the same thing, except its referred to as a feeling you get of being “blue” because its Monday.

Answer this before you read on – When did you first check your phone today?
Hi! My name is Pranjali Jain, from Dainty Palms. I write about mental health and lifestyle- trying to inspire others and myself to be the best possible version of ourselves. Today I am going to share my experience and the importance of digital detox with y’all. Thank you, Olivia, for the opportunity to bring this forward!
A week ago, I did a seven-day long digital detox, wherein I shut my social media handles and my blog for a break. The pressure of posting anything, replying, and being active was too much to handle. And I think I am not the only one to face this. So, if your answer to the question was close to “within an hour of waking up”, you probably need a digital detox.

A resolution I had for this year was to be more present in the moment and spend less time on electronic devices. Of course that didn’t happen because of COVID and also restarting my blog again, but I like to make a conscious effort to leave the technology behind every now and again. When I say screen time, I don’t just mean phones. I mean tablets, mobile phones, laptops, tv’s and any other device that has a screen! Today we’ll go through some tips on how to reduce your screen time and be more present in the moment.

I didn’t even know how to start this post. Because I was not quite prepared for me to hit this milestone so quickly. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for choosing to follow me. I restarted this blog at the beginning of July with 160 followers and no idea what I was doing (still don’t) and here I am on the 28th July hitting 1,000 followers. I never once thought this would happen and so soon.
I am still learning and making mistakes and still will. Theres always so much to learn with anything, especially blogging. Thank you for sticking with me. I hope that this can continue, and I hope this community of people can build up into an army of positive, self confident, kind humans. 💕
Special thanks to those that are constantly supporting, liking and commenting words of encouragement. You know who you are. And special thanks to those who have featured on my blog by doing guest posts. They really are so enjoyable and I love getting to know each of you through the process.
Thanks so much!

Lessons I’ve Learnt From My Friends
I did a blog post recently that was called ‘5 Lessons I’ve Learnt From My Parents‘ and I thought it would be a great idea to do the same post but based around things I’ve learnt from my friends. I’m so lucky to have been blessed with so many amazing friends throughout my life. Some just for a season and some for the long haul. I’m grateful for the lessons learnt in all of those friendships. My friends play such a huge role in my life so why not pass on the lessons and knowledge that I have learnt from them onto the world.

For most of my adult life I have known about love languages, but never really knew which one(s) I did. We all have love languages whether we realise it or not. Those things we do for others and how we act and behave towards those that we love. It all comes down to love languages.

Most people wake up in the morning, spend the entire day doing a job they don’t even like, get home late, go to bed, and do it all over again the next day. Why? To one day have enough money for the things that will make you happy or bring you peace of mind?
If this sounds like you, listen up! The truth is, we are already able to be happy and have peace of mind at this very moment, we simply need to be more mindful. In this article, we’ll discuss what mindfulness is, the benefits, and how to practice it in your everyday life.
