What do you enjoy most about blogging? Is it the freedom to say what you want online? Being able to share your own personal stories or work? What is it about blogging that keeps you coming back? I have always wondered what motives people have behind wanting to blog. For me, it was something to do during the height of the pandemic. I needed a focus and something to fill my time. To be happy, is something that alot of us strive for in life. Being happy (at least to me) is more than just an emotion, its a feeling too. I feel like as people, we chase happiness in almost everything we can find. Relationships, material items and experiences. When true happiness can only really be felt within. Did you know that 3 out of the 4 main emotions we feel as humans are negative, and only one is positive? Happy, sad, afraid and angry. So it’s no wonder we find it hard to be happy all of the time.

10 Things That Brought Me Joy This Week

Were are back for open discussion Saturdays, and this week I want to know what brought you joy this week. I don’t know how your week went, only you know that, but often when I have a bad week or something didn’t go to plan, I like to do alot of reflection. I like looking back to see what went well instead of what didn’t.

Its important to do this on a regular basis as it can help you to re-focus and re-centre yourself. Even if its something small and something you’d consider ‘stupid’ then please still share it. If it made you happy, then it makes me happy too! Sometimes it’s good to have these moments to reflect and to really get some positive energy going in your life. For a moment say goodbye to the stress and negativity that might be surrounding you and just be in the moment. Think about some things that brought you joy this week, this morning or today even!

Recently I have become addicted to Tik Tok, I’m not proud of it but they say the first step of beating an addiction is admitting you have one. So here I am. Haha I’m totally kidding but I really do love watching Tik Tok videos. A few months ago I stumbled across a page where a woman called Nabela, who shares these amazingly put together videos showing pockets of peace in her day. Even if she doesn’t have a great day, she finds even the small positives and I thought it was such a great idea and such a great way to remember to be grateful and see the goodness in each day.

Hello, my name is Gabrielle Beverly and I am the author of “The Gabby Diaries” I am 29 years old, and I am a Capricorn. My hobbies include writing, sketching, blogging, reading, listening to music and podcasts, and binge-watching anything at this point.
My passion in life is to help other individuals understand, and learn how to cope with their mental illness. On my blog, I talk about topics dealing with overall health, both physical and mental. I also talk about the importance of self-care, and how my faith and spiritual growth has helped me on my journey of self-love and self-discovery.

I guess my journey originally started back in high school. Growing up, I was the chunky kid. The funny thing about it, I never got bullied for being plus size. Crazy as it seems, it’s the truth. Everything else that I was bullied for, my weight was never an issue. As I got older, I learned so much from my health class, and my P.E. teacher at the time. Then, I also learned from family, friends, and a group called SistaKeepers, that I need to learn to love myself first. Not only has this been a journey about losing weight, this has also been a journey of learning to love myself more, self-discovery, and self-care.
