10 Things That Brought Me Joy This Week

10 Things That Brought Me Joy This Week

Were are back for open discussion Saturdays, and this week I want to know what brought you joy this week. I don’t know how your week went, only you know that, but often when I have a bad week or something didn’t go to plan, I like to do alot of reflection. I like looking back to see what went well instead of what didn’t.

Its important to do this on a regular basis as it can help you to re-focus and re-centre yourself. Even if its something small and something you’d consider ‘stupid’ then please still share it. If it made you happy, then it makes me happy too! Sometimes it’s good to have these moments to reflect and to really get some positive energy going in your life. For a moment say goodbye to the stress and negativity that might be surrounding you and just be in the moment. Think about some things that brought you joy this week, this morning or today even!

As always, I’ll start off by sharing mine and then you can share yours in the comments. I want this post to be a hub of happiness and positivity!

Interviewing My Parents About Being Parents – Pt 2

Interviewing My Parents About Being Parents – Pt 2

Welcome to part two of Interviewing my parents about being parents. I asked my parents separately the same questions and have created this series to share what they said. If you missed the first post then you missed the interview I did with my dad! You can go back and read it here.

I really enjoyed this process and hearing two both different perspectives on parenting. It’s interesting to see the differences in answers from a fathers and mothers point of view. At the end of this post I’ll do a short re-cap of both of the posts and see what differences and similarities there have been between both my moms and dads responses.

4 Things Bloggers Need To Stop Worrying About

4 Things Bloggers Need To Stop Worrying About

It’s a natural thing to worry about things that you care about. My mom always told me that nerves and worry were always a good thing, because it means you care. But there is a fine line between worrying and over worrying/becoming obsessive. As a blogger there are many things that run through our minds at all times. Will they read my content, will I get comments and follows, will people like me? Those are just some of the questions I have asked myself in the past. I understand its hard to not think about those things, you are putting your work out there! It can be scary because its the unknown.

Today I thought I’d outline four things that we as bloggers need to care less about. In hopes this helps a struggling blogger out there who is finding themselves worrying about their blog alot. We have all been there, and some of us might be right there with you now.

How I Gained 2k Blog Followers in 4 Months

How I Gained 2k Blog Followers in 4 Months

Running a blog is hard work, but with hard work comes results. I gained 2k blog followers in 4 months, and today I’m going to share my strategy on how I achieved it. I truly did not expect to gain 2k followers in 4 months, I had no idea this would happen. But I was thinking back to when I came back to blogging in July of this year (2020) and how I would have really appreciated a post like this. As some sort of motivation and guidance.

If you are here because you think I’m going to give you some secret code that gives you those followers overnight, you are looking in the wrong place. This happened from hard work and dedication and nothing more. It wont happen overnight and it didn’t for me. The tips I share are the things I did to make this happen. It’s up to you to put in the hard work to see the results.

Why You Should Keep Your Private Life Private

Why You Should Keep Your Private Life Private

To me a private life is a happy life. There are only a select few people I truly let in and know me fully. I have learnt the hard way on this subject because I was the person who was too trusting. I would let anyone in and share everything with them and I’d suffer the consequences afterwards when they’d share information about me to other people. It’s sad when it happens, because when you’re young you are very naive into thinking you could trust everyone, but thats not the case and you figure that out as you get older.

Having a balance between sharing things online and keeping things private is where I have got to, and I’m happy here. Being a blogger I have come to realise that its important even more to have this balance. I have spoken previously about why I decided to separate my private instagram from my blog instagram, and thats because I want to safeguard and protect myself and the people I know.

Let’s Talk About Why We Blog

Let’s Talk About Why We Blog

One thing you’ve probably noticed I do every now and then on my blog is creating conversation style posts, which is why you see posts such as my ‘Today I am Thankful For‘ post a few weeks ago.

It’s such a great thing to have conversations with people online, it’s not only great to make friends and connections but its great to talk to people you normally wouldn’t be able to. I have made so many blogger friends who live thousands and thousands of miles away from me, and none of that would have been possible without my blog & technology of course.

We all blog for various different reasons, some for hobbies, some for money, some just because. I thought for this weeks topic conversation we could all discuss our reasons why we blog. I’m sure all of our reasons vary and I cant wait to see what the responses are. I’ll start out by talking about why I blog and then in the comments I’d love to see your responses, no matter what it is.

Interviewing My Parents About Being Parents

Interviewing My Parents About Being Parents

My parents are two of the most amazing humans that I know. They are supportive, kind, caring and help me in more way than one. I don’t have many posts on my blog covering parenthood because I’m not a parent yet so I had this idea to interview my parents about being parents. I thought it would be interesting hearing their perspectives on parenting now that all of their children are grown up and are adults.

I always get people commenting on my parents skills and how amazing they are, so why not share their wise words and thoughts with the world. Be prepared that there for sure be some comedic responses to the 10 questions I have for them, because they like to think they’re funny!

This will be a two part series, with the first responses being from my dad. We won’t be sharing any personal information about my parents like their names or anything like that, but I hope you enjoy this post and find it helpful hearing a different parental perspective.

Fun Activities for Long Distance Relationships

Fun Activities for Long Distance Relationships

As I have spoken about before, I have several long distance friendships. It can be hard to sometimes to stay connected and keep our friendships strong. It’s a very unconventional way to be friends or have a relationship with someone, it’s almost alien to us as humans. We crave human contact and social interaction, so you have to become quite creative in your relationships to keep that level of interaction up.

The main way we ensure we do that is by being intentional with one another. Putting aside time to speak on FaceTime or sending letters and care packages to name a few. In todays post I’ll go through some things you can do to keep your long distance relationships thriving!

3 Ways to Adjust Your Self-care Routine For Autumn

3 Ways to Adjust Your Self-care Routine For Autumn

Its so important to me to make sure that self-care is practiced all year long, but I agree that it should be adapted as the seasons change. The self-care routine we do in summer should be different to the one we do in Winter. For me personally, I find the colder months the hardest on me mentally and physically as I suffer with asthma and Seasonal affective disorder (SAD).

Incorporating self care into everyday life is something I wish I had done sooner in life. It really makes such a big difference to my mental health and my overall wellbeing. I thought I’d share some tips you could add to your Autumn self care and some tips I even use myself over the colder months. I hope they help and you can add new steps to your routine from this post!
