Things You Shouldn’t Feel Bad About in Life

Things You Shouldn’t Feel Bad About in Life

One thing I really dislike about society now-a-days is how it makes you feel bad. It makes you feel bad if you’re not slim enough, if you don’t earn X amount of money etc. Society makes you feel you’re not successful or you’re behind everyone else if you’re going at a different pace. Social media has a huge play in this because you constantly see everyone online buying houses, having babies and getting married. Its a natural and human thing to think, well why am I not there yet? There are so many things in life you shouldn’t feel bad about. And this post is your reminder.

Let’s Talk about Mental Health

Let’s Talk about Mental Health

Mental health has always been a hot topic on the internet and generally in life. But due to the recent coronavirus pandemic it has become even more talked about, and rightly so. People are suffering even more than before, and people are finding it really difficult to get the help they need. The usual facilities or help lines are closed and people have been left jobless, even homeless with mental health problems. Yes we are currently experiencing a global pandemic of COVID, but I think we are also on the brink of a mental health pandemic too.

Twenty Things I’m Thankful For in 2020

Twenty Things I’m Thankful For in 2020

Looking back at 2020, I admit we have had it pretty rough. It’s been anything but normal for us. When I turned 25 this year I swore it would be the best year of my life. My favourite number is 25, so I always said that year would be a year I wouldn’t forget. And I wasn’t wrong, but its unforgettable for all of the wrong reasons.

Me, Myself & Self-doubt

Me, Myself & Self-doubt

At some point in our lives we have all experienced self-doubt. A time where we have caught ourselves saying ‘I can’t do this‘. It’s normal and natural to go through those feelings at some point in life. Self-doubt is something I have struggled with before and it happens to me periodically. Self-doubt is a feeling of lack of confidence and not feeling like you can do something. A few examples of when you might experience self doubt are when you are going for a job interview, when you meet new people or when you are starting a new hobby. Self-doubt is something that often comes with romantic relationships too.

An Open Letter to My Anxiety

An Open Letter to My Anxiety

I have suffered with anxiety for most of my adult life,. It’s something I’ve learnt to live with and I know others who suffer from it feel that way too. People who suffer with mental illnesses can seem fine and dandy on the outside but only they know what’s going on, in the inside.

I saw my friend Niraj post recently about anxiety, and it was like he was speaking to his anxiety like it was a person. I like the idea of facing it head on like its a friend or an enemy in my case. The idea seemed so good so I thought I’d take my own spin on it and write my own open letter to my anxiety.

The Importance of Celebrating the Small Things

The Importance of Celebrating the Small Things

In life we often forget about the importance of the small things that happen in life, and just focus on the big stuff. Those big pivotal moments in life get all of the glory, but when do we actually stop and focus on the small things that happen? Those moments that we take for granted and don’t think about, where is the big celebration for them?

These moments can come in so many different variations. It could just be the fact that you woke up and showered today when you couldn’t bring yourself to do it for a week. It can be anything! In todays post I want us to focus on those small things. No matter what they are, or how stupid we might think they are. If they are important to you, they are important to us.

4 Things I’ll Miss About 2020

4 Things I’ll Miss About 2020

There are many things I’ll miss about 2020 , and thats a bold statement considering this year has been tough. We have been and still are living through a global pandemic. We have seen innocent people of colour die in the hands of those who swore to protect them. We have seen fires in several countries destroying homes and businesses. I mean I could go on and on describing the terrible things that have happened this year. But in amongst the bad stuff there have been some positives, and those are the things I’ll miss the most.

Instead of focusing on the bad stuff, I thought I’d end the year on a high. I want to share the things I’ll miss about 2020 as we go into 2021. And I want you to do the same too. Take some time to really think about the good stuff that has happened to you this year, even if it’s that you simply survived the year.

If we can all agree on one thing during 2020, and thats how over this pandemic we are. The whole of 2020 has been filled with separation from our loved ones, negative news and so many other difficult situations. I often remind myself of the good that has come from this year when I feel like I’m on a downward spiral in my own thoughts. It’s not hard for us to feel lonely this year, even if you have been locked in your home with other people.

I’ve often battled loneliness during this pandemic and I live with my parents. The lack of social interaction from my peers and the lack of leaving the house can make anyone feel down.
