To Feel beautiful is hands down one of the best feelings in the world, am I right?

There is something so uplifting about feeling confident in who you are and what you are. It’s deeper than outward appearance. Feeling beautiful is more than just what we look like, it’s about who we are as people. Society deems only one type of person beautiful, and thats the people you see on the front of magazine covers and on adverts. But let’s face it, the average person doesn’t look like that. And its easy for us to feel self doubt or insecurities, but that doesn’t mean we are less beautiful than they are.

Do you feel as though you have good body positivity? Do you love yourself and the body that you are in? I know it can be hard to answer those questions, because for me it depends what day it is. Some days I wake up feeling great, I love myself and I embrace who I am. Others I wake up feeling the total opposite. And thats totally normal.

We are living in a world where there is one type of body that is admired by the masses and one type of body that is socially acceptable. And if our bodies don’t fit that standard it can leave us feeling less worthy, or not beautiful enough. Which should not be the case at all.

Do you ever just have really awful days and you don’t know how to turn them around? On days like those, I force myself to practice some form of self-care. I say force, because alot of the time I don’t really feel like doing it. Doing these practices might not get rid of my problem, but it sure does make me feel better for it. Self-care is so important for maintaining good mental and physical health. We often forget how important self-care is for our overall wellbeing.

I guess my journey originally started back in high school. Growing up, I was the chunky kid. The funny thing about it, I never got bullied for being plus size. Crazy as it seems, it’s the truth. Everything else that I was bullied for, my weight was never an issue. As I got older, I learned so much from my health class, and my P.E. teacher at the time. Then, I also learned from family, friends, and a group called SistaKeepers, that I need to learn to love myself first. Not only has this been a journey about losing weight, this has also been a journey of learning to love myself more, self-discovery, and self-care.
