I remember the first time I heard someone use the phrase new seasons of life. And I really loved how it sounded. Whenever I go through new changes or circumstances in life, I often now refer to them as new seasons of life. And recently I went through one myself. Often they are hard to navigate, and hard to come to terms with. But ultimately they are important and needed to help us to grow as people.
Seeing life in seasons helps us to acknowledge that changes come, but they bring a newness with them. Often there are such connotations with change and new things. When in reality new doesn’t always mean bad. When someone says “you’ve changed” it’s often seen as a negative. And yes, sometimes it can be. But as humans we all change and adapt with our circumstances. And honestly I wouldn’t want to remain the same as I grow older. I want to learn and grow with my new seasons of life.
Alot of the time with my blog posts I tend to write as I am going through things in life. You the reader won’t ever realise it, but if you scroll through my posts they are almost diary entries. And most of the time its real life stuff I’m going through, and this post isn’t any different.
I’ve gone through two major life changes, with the passing of my dog and moving home for the first time. Both of these things happened within the same week too. So, It’s been alot to deal with as you can imagine. And thats exactly why I wanted to make this post. Because if you are going through a new season of life, I know exactly how you feel and I’m right there with you.
Here are some things I have been doing to help me adjust to my own new seasons of life.
TAKE EACH DAY AS THEY COME
I know it’s such a cliche thing to say, but taking each day as they come has really helped me get through this new phase. As people we often look at things as the bigger picture and we forget to focus on the here and now. Learning to be present in the now has helped so much in knowing what I have control over. I know I have control over my current circumstance. I know I am in control of my own happiness in that moment.
Not everyday will be the same. So focusing on the now will help you to be grateful and find joy in the present.

KNOW IT WON’T BE EASY
With new seasons of life come new challenges, some you won’t have ever faced before. Maybe it will be new struggles, new friendships or relationships or maybe new circumstances and situations you haven’t ever had to deal with. It won’t be easy going through something new, and it never is. But it’s about what you learn from it. It won’t be easy but it will be such a great learning experience for you to go through it.
Through my own circumstances I have already learnt so much about myself. Things I never even knew. I have learnt about how I am able to adjust to new situations quickly, which I never thought I ever could. I always liked things being the same and in my routine. And now my whole life routine has completely changed and I feel fine about it.

FIND THE JOY IN NEW SEASONS OF LIFE
There is always joy to be found in life, even in the hardest of circumstances. Going into a new season of life doesn’t always mean it’s a bad season. It can be wonderful and full of joy too. The joys might be harder to spot for some, but they are there if you look hard enough. I have found many new joys in my own new season and I am so grateful for those small reminders. Its like God reminding you that you’re not he right path, and it brings me so much comfort.

New seasons of life can be exciting and scary at the same time, but it’s what you make of it that counts.

I’m glad you’re adjusting to your changes! Moving to a new home can be really exciting. (I’ve moved into 13 different houses).
I’m definitely trying to focus more on my now. Lately, I’ve been too focused on what I want for me future and didn’t realize what I already had. The kind of people in my life, my living circumstances, the amount of free time I have, etc… Great post!
wow 13!! This was my first move!
My family rented a lot so we were moving every 2 years at least
I also have divorced parents so moving happened on both sides
Love finding the joy in the new season of life! Beautiful thought to hold. ❤️🦋🌀〰️
Very nice and interesting post.
Thanks!
Not yet! But i am open to changes. Whenever they will come i will be ready!
I love this!
I mean, if i had a closed mind, i would have never opened a blog!
Reading your post from the vantage of 68, shortly to be 69, years, my first take on your post is: if those are shocks, and the loss of a beloved pet is for sure, “you ain’t seen nothing yet.” In my work in health insurance, I see people struggling with issues they never dreamt they would face — death of a spouse, blindness due to a combination of Covid and diabetes, facial damage from a dog attack, you name it. The world has a way of tossing the completely unexpected at us, and most of the surprises aren’t winning lottery tickets. You’re moving home, but imagine if there were no home in which to move. What would you do then?
Gratitude is a key part of balance. Knowing that we are blessed with things that others don’t have helps to keep us grounded in reality. Helping others is a way of expressing gratitude and can be a source of deep satisfaction. It’s also a key element that maintains our humanity and helps us avoid turning into arrogant, entitled monsters.
Its so important to have those reminders of gratitude when you go through hard times. But we must remember that just because someone is going through something ‘harder’ doesn’t mean our situations aren’t hard too, they’re just different.
Reminding yourself of the good you have in life is a must, and it something I do often. But sometimes I need that gentle nudge and reminder to be thankful for all that I have.
Gratitude is important in good times as well. For me, Dolly Parton is a remarkable role model in both succeeding and retaining her grounding and humanity. Very few do.
Weird out new seasons seem to resemble each other’s. Last year I lost my pup and I had to move (building issue) at Christmas. My home still feels empty without my furbuddy, but I’m trying to open my eyes to maybe there’s an opportunity I’m my life that he wasn’t supposed to be here for. New work position with dif hours that I wouldn’t have taken cause I’d feel guilty about not being home with him 🤔
Keep up the great attitude 🤎
NO way! That is so crazy. Sending you love during this hard time, I can for sure relate to how hard it is!
This is such a good way to look at things. I’ve never heard it before but I love it.
Im so glad you liked it!
I love this. It reminds me of a saying that I’ve heard before, how most of us go through 3 phases in life: either at a standstill, going through challenges, or feeling great about ourselves. And most of us hardly ever stay at a standstill for long.
Great post!
I love that! Thanks for sharing it, its so true
I always find that making sure that you take your time!

I already passed through a lot of changes, it was really difficult to adjust to all of them. But I’m learning how to adjust to new seasons of life. Thank you for this post, it is a very interesting post. I could learn a lot.
It reflects the truth of life!
Great post. It’s definitely not easy to get over some of life’s major hurdles. but at the same time there is some good in it in that we can grow & learn from the experience.
I’m so glad you’re adjusting to your new changes. I struggle with change honestly and it takes me a while to accept them.
I was just focusing in try to get the moment and I didn’t try to see how that would happen.
