Things I’d Say to My Younger Self

Things I’d Say to My Younger Self

I know writing to your younger self is such a cliche and overdone thing, but I have really wanted to do this for a while. I had so many expectations of how life was going to go when I was younger that have not been met. And I’m not sure if its because of my own expectations that I set or the fact nobody told me adult life would be this way. I did not sign up for this.

I guess as kids we are sheltered from alot of things. Knowing about sex and relationships and all of the ugly and evil things of this world. But I wish I would have known how hard growing up would be, and that it wouldn’t be easy. Perhaps my parents let me watch too many princess movies or reality tv and thats what warped my view of life. I mean I thought I’d be married with kids at 25, and for the record I am nowhere near ready for that.

How Social Media is Slowly Destroying Us

How Social Media is Slowly Destroying Us

According to statistics, one in three marriages end in divorce due to affairs started on social media. 210 million people are estimated to suffer from internet and social media addictions, and 71% of people sleep with or next to their mobile phone [kinda weird if you think about it!]. Believe me too, these were not the craziest statistics I found when researching this topic.

It is What It is

It is What It is

Do you ever find yourself in situations saying it is what it is? I find myself saying this when I get let down or if plans don’t play out like I thought they would. I mean the whole of 2020 was a big it is what it is wasn’t it? Because of the year we had in 2020 I think we all have this mentality now to some extent. We all had plans that year to do great things and see family and make memories and instead it brought loss, death, heartbreak and isolation. And it really reminded me that we really aren’t in control of our lives. We can control our now but not so much our future.

What To Do When You’re Lacking Inspiration

What To Do When You’re Lacking Inspiration

Inspiration, Inspiration, Inspiration.

If you’re a blogger, writer or anything to do with creating, at some point I’m sure you have found that your inspiration levels have run low. Which has probably left you feeling frustrated, annoyed and deflated at the fact you can’t think of anything new. We have all been there and know just how that feels. Inspiration can come from so many different places, you just have to go looking in the right place.

It’s like a battle of two forces. You want to create something but you just don’t know what. There are times I go through this with writing. I actually went through just that whilst trying to think of blog content and thats how this post was created. I had writers block and had no idea what to write, so thank you writers block for helping me out for once!

5 Tips to Get Healthier This Year

5 Tips to Get Healthier This Year

After such an interesting year spent indoors and a year feeling less healthier than we were, I’m almost certain that I am not the only one who gained a few pounds. If you were part of the lucky few who challenged themselves to a healthier lifestyle, good on you. Unfortunately, I cannot relate. My lockdown started off great, and then it wasn’t. I could give you every excuse about why it all went south, but that won’t help anyone. Instead, I would just like everyone who is in a similar situation to know that it’s okay. We had our slip up but now it’s time to get healthier.

6 Things I’ll be Doing Differently This Year

6 Things I’ll be Doing Differently This Year

There are many things I’ll be doing differently this year, I find There is something about New Years that gives me this sense of a fresh start. I don’t know whether it’s the pandemic and everything else that happened last year, but something in me wants to make changes and stick to them. I really hope the rest of the world takes on this view too. We made so many positive changes to the world and our environment from being forced to slow down or stop. I really hope we don’t forget everything we learnt.

I have talked about before why I don’t set New Years resolutions, so these aren’t resolutions as such, but smaller more meaningful goals. Personally, I think it’s always a good thing to keep changing and advancing into new versions of yourself. It’s important to not stay the same.

Can People Really Change?

Can People Really Change?

Do you think people can really change? Like really make an effort to change who they are, wipe clean the mistakes they made and become a better person? For todays open discussion Saturday I wanted to speak on this topic and what your thoughts are.

As we are now in a new year, we often hear of how people intend to make changes through New Years resolutions. They come into the new year with this motivation to get healthier, eat better, exercise and remove their bad ways. But do you think that people can really change and become different people?

It’s Okay to Not Have it All Figured Out

It’s Okay to Not Have it All Figured Out

With a new year comes alot of uncertainty, and I’m here to remind you that it’s okay to not have it all figured out. There seems to be this pressure in life that you have to know your next steps. When in reality you didn’t even know your steps before, they kinda just happened.

Do you ever feel like you’re just blowing in the wind of life, without any sort of direction? I’ve felt like that before. And contrary to belief, it’s okay to feel that way. Alot of the steps I’ve faced in life have just happened, not because I planned them out.

Will 2021 Be Better Than 2020?

Will 2021 Be Better Than 2020?

The million dollar question, will 2021 be better than 2020? I wish I knew the answer. If I could write this and have a crystal ball looking into the future I would. I’d first look at if this stupid virus was gone. Because let’s face it, thats the one thing thats really screwed us over this year. I’d then look to see (and hope and pray) that all of the businesses and people who lost their jobs and homes have got all of it back. I really do feel for those people. And then I’d probably look to see if the world has any sort of hope that equality and injustice are resolved. Thats one thing I really wish for in 2021.

Twenty Things I’m Thankful For in 2020

Twenty Things I’m Thankful For in 2020

Looking back at 2020, I admit we have had it pretty rough. It’s been anything but normal for us. When I turned 25 this year I swore it would be the best year of my life. My favourite number is 25, so I always said that year would be a year I wouldn’t forget. And I wasn’t wrong, but its unforgettable for all of the wrong reasons.
