Inspiration, Inspiration, Inspiration.
If you’re a blogger, writer or anything to do with creating, at some point I’m sure you have found that your inspiration levels have run low. Which has probably left you feeling frustrated, annoyed and deflated at the fact you can’t think of anything new. We have all been there and know just how that feels. Inspiration can come from so many different places, you just have to go looking in the right place.
It’s like a battle of two forces. You want to create something but you just don’t know what. There are times I go through this with writing. I actually went through just that whilst trying to think of blog content and thats how this post was created. I had writers block and had no idea what to write, so thank you writers block for helping me out for once!
SEEK HELP FROM OTHERS
Whenever I need inspiration I look to friends or family. Alot of the time, lack of inspiration comes from overthinking. We are in our minds all the time, and sometimes we just need a fresh perspective. Having an outsider point of view can be really helpful. Often when I do this, I don’t even take onboard their ideas but it just gets me thinking outside of the box.
If you don’t have friends and family that can help then ask the blogging community. I have gone to others so many times for help and advice and they are so willing and helpful to share their ideas. You don’t know until you ask!
LET YOUR SURROUNDINGS INSPIRE YOU
I have mentioned this before but I often write about different scenarios or situations that I’m currently going through. Our own lives can be such great inspiration for content. And if you keep your private life private like I do, then write about whatever it is in a general manner. You don’t need to name specifics or go into details. And don’t worry, others won’t find out if the content is about you and your life [unless you tell them!].
Getting outside and doing something different than being stuck in-front of a computer can really clear your mind. And its a plus that It makes for great exercise too! 2 birds one stone!
WHAT NOT TO DO
DON’T GET IN A RUT – It can be so easy to allow lack of inspiration to defeat you. But please don’t let it get you down. Sometimes its your minds way of saying that you need to take some time off or take a step back from whatever it is you’re doing. Listen to yourself.
DON’T MAKE THE MISTAKES I DID – When I first started blogging, I will admit I had no idea what I was doing. I thought it was perfectly fine to take inspiration from other bloggers posts.I will say now that I have learnt, please fellow bloggers don’t do that. Bloggers spend so much time and effort creating content for you and when you copy it or take their idea it can be really disheartening. There is a fine line between inspiration and imitation.
DON’T QUIT – You may feel really disheartened when you can’t think of new content. But please don’t give up. We all have bad days, heck even bad weeks and months. If everything came easy, none of us would do anything. The climb might be hard but the view from the top is worth it.
I think it’s okay to use another blogger’s idea as long as we give them credit for that particular blog post, and as long as it isn’t taken word for word (plagiarism is a huge no no). A lot of topics get recycled, so what I do is search similar topics to see how saturated that particular niche/topic is before I write about it. If it’s not super saturated, then I may use a similar topic.
If I’m copying an idea because a particular blog post inspired me, I give the blogger credit. Often, bloggers don’t give other bloggers credit for the original idea. I’ve had it happen to me before, and it seriously irks me.

Yes I agree! Its really hard to come up with a brand new idea thats never been done before. You’re so right in what you’re saying. I think if someone has become inspired to do a similar post then giving credit is a must. 👍🏻

I’m currently experiencing an inspiration crux and I hate the feeling! If I had to pick one I’d say seeking help from my friends and family is the most helpful.
Not only do they often have ideas that need to be talked about but it also serves as a good bonding exercise.

I think it’s so easy to run of inspiration during a pandemic as the outside world usually inspires me. I’d also just recommend going for a walk without anything distracting your thoughts so that one come up with their own ideas!

You are right sometimes our life provides us with great content. Whenever I am experiencing the “writers block” I look at what I am doing and thankfully can come up with a post (although, it’s not always the case🙃)
Thank you for sharing this xx

Inspiration is everywhere. Sometimes it’s just about going for a walk outside and observing. When I started my blog, I brainstormed a long list of ideas. I’ve written about some of them, but not all of them. And, I’ve written about a bunch of other stuff. When I’m stuck, I go back to that original list.
Sometimes when I read other blogs, I’ll get a nugget of inspiration that sparks another idea. I add that to my idea list.

Great tips and great post for anyone needing a surge of inspiration! When I’m feeling uninspired I clear my mind, relax, focus on some self care and the ideas for blog posts and blog ideas will start coming to me so I will feel inspired again. Another thing I like to do is look at other blogs. 😄❤️

Brainstorming is good. Or I ask myself questions and go with the flow and see what is written down.
This is when future planning comes into play.
I do get inspired by other peoples post, and make sure I give them credit. Reflect on past achievements or a failure and write about what could of been done better.

Yes for sure! Future planning is something I implemented really early in my blog!

Another great read as usual! I have topics come to me at random times. I will typically jot down the topic, and some extra thought that came with it, so when I come back to it someday, I’ll remember what my focus was. Other times I get content from my personal life. I also share content on fashion and travel, so it comes from my experience or things I’ve put together. I’ve had times of block or a lack of interest, and when that happens, I just take a moment to step away from everything. I come back when I feel like I’m going to put out content worthy to be read and shared.

Stepping away when you have writers block is the best thing to do. I think when we try to force it, it shows and we end up getting more frustrated!

Exactly, and I don’t like forced. LOL! I want genuine content.

My inspiration are people I’d love to write for..My beloved readers. I connect with other mums and join communities where others help each other. Crafting a story for those who may resonate with the plot is very important to me.
And hence I tend to write stories with happing endings too. Life can be difficult enough..and I want to spread the joy and help another mamma to switch off and enjoy a piece of writing that may leave nice feelings.
I really enjoyed reading your post. Thank you so much. Very engaging. I wish you the best of luck with your blog and don’t worry about writing about ideas other bloggers have! Your writing is unique! 🌟
