How to Pick the Perfect Christmas Decor

How to Pick the Perfect Christmas Decor

With everybody starting to decorate for Christmas I thought I’d kick off Blogmas with a post on how to decorate your home for Christmas. I always love seeing other peoples Christmas decor and I always want to know where they get everything from. Decorating for Christmas is probably my favourite part of it all, its the lights, the tinsel and the ornaments. It just makes that time of year so exciting.

I think this year Christmas is even more important because we haven’t had anything else to look forward to. 2020 has had a great impact on our mental health and I think we need Christmas as a welcomed distraction. Which is another reason why I decided to do Blogmas.

How I’m Learning to Stay Calm in Difficult Situations

You’ve probably faced your fair share of difficult situations in 2020, perhaps more than any other year. It’s been a tough time for alot of us, not being able to see loved ones, some facing job loss or pay cuts, people around us getting sick, just to name a few. It can be hard to not react to different things that come our way in life, but one thing I try my best to do is stay calm.

When something unexpected or something unfair happens in our lives, we all have various coping mechanisms and ways we approach those situations. It can be really easy to get angry and overwhelmed when we find ourselves in those situations. But today I’m sharing some tips on how we can be better at staying calm in difficult situations.

Where Does Your Blogging Inspiration Come From?

Where Does Your Blogging Inspiration Come From?

When I first started blogging my inspiration came from here, there and everywhere. I had a beauty focused blog, so it was pretty easy to find makeup inspiration all over social media. Now I find it alot harder to find inspiration for my posts. I think it’s because I worry about what I post and overthink it way too much. Which I know alot of bloggers do!

For this weeks open discussion Saturday I want to know where you find your inspiration. How do you come up with blog post ideas and how do you choose what you want to share with the world? As always I’ll share where my inspiration comes from then I want to hear from you!

How to Cope With Loneliness During The Pandemic

How to Cope With Loneliness During The Pandemic

If we can all agree on one thing during 2020, and thats how over this pandemic we are. The whole of 2020 has been filled with separation from our loved ones, negative news and so many other difficult situations. I often remind myself of the good that has come from this year when I feel like I’m on a downward spiral in my own thoughts. It’s not hard for us to feel lonely this year, even if you have been locked in your home with other people.

I’ve often battled loneliness during this pandemic and I live with my parents. The lack of social interaction from my peers and the lack of leaving the house can make anyone feel down. I can’t even imagine what it’s like for people who live alone at this time, it must be so difficult. It’s important that we do various things to stop this feeling, and in todays post I hope to share some tips that I’ve been doing to help battle the feeling of loneliness.

Why The Unfollow Button Should be Your Best Friend

Why The Unfollow Button Should be Your Best Friend

We have all used the beloved unfollow button at some point in our lives, and don’t lie to me and tell me you haven’t. There is a reason why the unfriend button is there on every single social media platform.

Personally I utilise the unfollow button on almost every social media platform I own. I am always clearing out my online friend lists. Just like in offline life, we don’t hang around or be-friend people who are bad people, so I am a firm believer in not inviting them into my online space either. If I wouldn’t be friends with them in life then I won’t be friends with them online. We really need to normalise removing people from our social media platforms. So many people get upset and offended if they find out that you unfollow them. But alot of the time it’s just because of the content they post. If I don’t like it, I’ll unfollow you. It doesn’t mean anything other than that.

Today I’ll be sharing some reasons as to why the unfollow button should be used more and how it can help filter out that bad stuff!

My Best Friends Funeral Was The First I Have Ever Attended

My Best Friends Funeral Was The First I Have Ever Attended

For a long time now I have debated sharing this post I originally wrote in 2017, as you can tell by the title I lost my best friend. I went a whole 22 years of my life avoiding death and funerals, until the moment I stepped through those doors where we celebrated her life.

My intention behind posting this is to really share the story and share how my mental health suffered through this. But its also a story of hope and how I healed from this loss. It was a rough time in my life, I struggled and you’ll read that in the post shortly. I really want this to give people hope that things do get better after something traumatic happens in your life, I am an example of that. I hope you learn that healing takes time, and just like any wound it takes time to heal from it.

It’s hard for me to share something so personal, but I need to practice what I preach. I tell my readers all the time that being a good blogger means you need to be vulnerable, and you do. Which is why I’m choosing to share this with you. I hope it helps you and brings you hope that you can heal from whatever it is you’re going through, whether its a loss of a loved one, a funeral, or a tough situation.

My Top Tips For Self-Care on Bad Days

My Top Tips For Self-Care on Bad Days

[AD-GIFTED]

Do you ever just have really awful days and you don’t know how to turn them around? On days like those, I force myself to practice some form of self-care. I say force, because alot of the time I don’t really feel like doing it. Doing these practices might not get rid of my problem, but it sure does make me feel better for it. Self-care is so important for maintaining good mental and physical health. We often forget how important self-care is for our overall wellbeing.

So in todays post I’m sharing things I do when I’m having a bad day, which help me to feel better and turn my day around. I hope you find these helpful, and would love to hear the things you do on self-care days too.
