Who Influences Your Life?

Who Influences Your Life?

We have many different influences in life, it could be faith/religion, close circle of friends or the media. Influence comes in many ways, shapes and forms and can be both positive and negative. There are many different things in life that have an influence on who you are and how you choose to behave and think. We also [sometimes without knowing it] have influence on others, our actions and words have influence on almost everyone we come into contact with. Originally I wanted to write this post about social media influencers, but thought lets go a step further and discuss influence as the big picture.

It’s Okay to Not Have it All Figured Out

It’s Okay to Not Have it All Figured Out

With a new year comes alot of uncertainty, and I’m here to remind you that it’s okay to not have it all figured out. There seems to be this pressure in life that you have to know your next steps. When in reality you didn’t even know your steps before, they kinda just happened.

Do you ever feel like you’re just blowing in the wind of life, without any sort of direction? I’ve felt like that before. And contrary to belief, it’s okay to feel that way. Alot of the steps I’ve faced in life have just happened, not because I planned them out.

The Importance of Celebrating the Small Things

The Importance of Celebrating the Small Things

In life we often forget about the importance of the small things that happen in life, and just focus on the big stuff. Those big pivotal moments in life get all of the glory, but when do we actually stop and focus on the small things that happen? Those moments that we take for granted and don’t think about, where is the big celebration for them?

These moments can come in so many different variations. It could just be the fact that you woke up and showered today when you couldn’t bring yourself to do it for a week. It can be anything! In todays post I want us to focus on those small things. No matter what they are, or how stupid we might think they are. If they are important to you, they are important to us.

4 Effective Ways to Develop a Better State of Mind

4 Effective Ways to Develop a Better State of Mind

[GUEST POST]

As 2020 closes, I want to share a gift to all of you. This gift is to be remembered at all times especially when dealing with dilemmas beyond your control. Your state of mind is everything. Develop it. Protect it. Value it. It’s a small gift from me to you; a reminder as you reach your dreams in 2021!

Hi, everybody! I’m Monique, a 20-year-old college student and blogger based on the Philippines. I talk about my struggles and experiences as an aspiring writer who just finished writing my very first novel last October. Aside from that, I also spread motivation and advice to young adults my age. I talk about all of this in my blog called www.lifebeginsattwenty.com. I’d appreciate it if you spare a few minutes of your time to visit it and read one or two articles.

I’m honoured to be partnered with Olivia on this and to be given an opportunity to showcase my ability to talk and write about my passions to an even larger audience. Also, I did an interview with Olivia on my blog! If you want to see it, click here.

The Face Behind The Blog

The Face Behind The Blog

Thanks so much to my friend Shelly from growingwithspawn for this tag. So grateful for her and that blogging brought us together from different parts of the world. Its been a while since I have done anything about me or who is behind this blog, so I have really jumped at the chance of doing this tag.

I like to keep alot of who I am and my personal life private, mainly for security reasons. But today I’ll share some stuff that maybe you didn’t know about me already! And we will start with the face behind the blog!

Today I Am Thankful For…

Today I Am Thankful For…

Something thats really important to me, and something I like to remind people of is the good things they have in life. I especially like to do this when I’m having a rough time, it really helps to put things into perspective. Being thankful in the mist of a bad time or a bad period of mental health is something I really cling to, to help me feel better.

So today I thought I would spread some positivity in the internet world and came up with the idea of this post. I want this post to be a hub of positivity. Where we all come together to share the things we are grateful for in life, and so we can encourage and remind each other of the good things we have.

I’ll list 10 things I’m thankful for this week and I then want you to go to the comment section and list as many things as you like, that you are thankful for too.

How I Balance Blogging Around a Full Schedule

How I Balance Blogging Around a Full Schedule

It can be so hard balancing the things that come with life, some things we choose to do and some things we have to do. When I restarted my blog this year I didn’t realise that it would be like a full time job and I already have a full time job. I know some fellow blogging friends of mine have families and kids they have to look after too, so I cant even image running a blog and having to juggle all of that.

I often get asked how I post so much and how I manage to balance everything to stay afloat. So this is why this post is here! I want to share what I personally do to keep onto of my blog whilst having a full time job and other commitments. It’s not easy, but I hope these tips can help to take some weight off of your shoulders.

How I’m Learning To Be More Grateful In Life

How I’m Learning To Be More Grateful In Life

It can be really hard when you suffer from a mental illness to see the brighter side of life. Your thoughts consume you and you feel hopeless. Whenever I feel this way, I try to remind myself of the good I have in this world. I remind myself of the things that bring me and joy and make me happy. I do this exercise as a reminder to my brain that things are better than I think they are.

I read a book that a therapist wrote a few years ago when I was at my lowest mentally, and it gave this really good learning technique. It was saying out loud to yourself that you acknowledge your feelings. This triggers something in your brain so that you recognise that it is just thoughts, it’s not real or present. Doing this exercise and saying out loud the good things you have in life can help in the same way. It’s like you’re talking to a friend or a family member, reminding them everything will be okay. But instead you are talking to yourself.
