Lets Learn About Essential Oils

Lets Learn About Essential Oils

This year I’ve really been trying to live a cleaner life. Now by that I mean trying to stay away from modern medicine and being more aware of the things I put on my body and the things I eat too. Thankfully this is easier now as there are so many different products and alternative things we can use to make ourselves feel better. Today we will be discussing essential oils and I’ll be sharing the benefits I’ve been noticing in my life since making the switch.

How I’m Learning To Be More Grateful In Life

How I’m Learning To Be More Grateful In Life

It can be really hard when you suffer from a mental illness to see the brighter side of life. Your thoughts consume you and you feel hopeless. Whenever I feel this way, I try to remind myself of the good I have in this world. I remind myself of the things that bring me and joy and make me happy. I do this exercise as a reminder to my brain that things are better than I think they are.

I read a book that a therapist wrote a few years ago when I was at my lowest mentally, and it gave this really good learning technique. It was saying out loud to yourself that you acknowledge your feelings. This triggers something in your brain so that you recognise that it is just thoughts, it’s not real or present. Doing this exercise and saying out loud the good things you have in life can help in the same way. It’s like you’re talking to a friend or a family member, reminding them everything will be okay. But instead you are talking to yourself.

What Equipment I Use For Blogging – 2015 vs 2020

So much has changed in the 5 years this site has been active. Back in 2015 WordPress was so much different, and the whole blogging world was seen as so much different too. AAlotlot has changed with the internet & so many other things surrounding blogging. Even my writing style and my blog content has changed so much since then.

Learning About Toxic Relationships

Learning About Toxic Relationships

[Guest Post]

Hi everyone. I’m Lima, a Relationship and Lifestyle Blogger and I happen to love tasting the waters, so I have made a lot of mistakes as a Christian. I am not exactly proud of everything I have been through that’s why I teach people how to avoid them. You can read all about it here.

I remember sitting in my room and looking through the wedding invites I have for the remainder of this year, some I have to attend and others I can just watch from home. I was delighted at first about the union until I thought about the number of people that might end up rushing into relationships just because they have one or two friends that are about to say I do or are a happy couple. This still remains the major reason people try to tolerate a toxic relationship, and try to manage the hits.

4 Ways To Practice Self-Compassion

4 Ways To Practice Self-Compassion

I almost feel like I’m unintentionally doing a mini series with all of my self-love, self-confidence and self-acceptance posts. I think its so important in the current climate that we are kind to ourselves and show ourselves love. Society and ourselves put pressure on us to be a certain way, and when we don’t fit that mould we aren’t seen as worthy enough, which is of course not true. I had never heard of the phrase self-compassion until a few days ago, so decided to do my own research and then extend what I have learnt to here on my blog.

Why Long Distance Friendships Are Worth It

Why Long Distance Friendships Are Worth It

For most of my adult life I have had long distance friendships. Me and my friends maintain a pretty regular friendship with 4,000+ miles between us. We met when they came here to the UK from America. They came here for a semester (around 4 months) to study and work at the church I attend. Long distance friendships, similar to long distance relationships can be hard to maintain but I’m here today to tell you why they are so worth it.

How to Stop Living For The Weekend and Start Living For Everyday

How to Stop Living For The Weekend and Start Living For Everyday

I have to admit that I once was that person that lived for the weekend. I felt stuck in a job that I hated and when Friday came around its like I became a new woman. This feeling slowly went away as Sunday crept in as I knew the doom and gloom awaiting me at work on Monday. It can be really hard to get out of this mind-set, believe me I know. But once you do its the best feeling in the world.

Today I’ll be sharing some tips and tricks on how you can stop living for weekends and start living for everyday instead!

My Thoughts on Blogging

My Thoughts on Blogging

I’ve been wanting to write some sort of blogging post like this for a while but never felt I knew enough to give any advice on the matter. Then I realised, I probably wont ever get to a point where I feel like I know enough knowledge to share it. So thought I would share the advice I have now, in hopes it might help new (or old) bloggers out there.

Please know, I am no means and expert at blogging. I mess up and make mistakes just like everyone else. I probably don’t do a lot of things right with my blogs, but were all learning. I just want to share the little knowledge I have.

Advice For Starting a New Job During Covid

Advice For Starting a New Job During Covid

I’ve been working from home now since the 17th March this year. Thats almost 7 months of my home being work, and work being at my home. It was a weird transition at first but one I have come to appreciate. I get an extra 2 hours in bed, I don’t have to do a commute, finishing work doesn’t involve a train journey home. There are so many benefits, but with anything there are downsides too. The lack of social interaction with colleagues, not having a break between home life and work life, feeling like I must be available 24/7. But please know I am so grateful. Grateful that I have been able to work all throughout this pandemic, and that my job is secure.
