3 At Home Remedies to Help Calm Anxiety

Sometimes stress and anxiety just builds up and up and you feel like there’s no escape, I have been there before. It lead me down a path of research into natural at home remedies for helping reduce my anxiety and stress. And to my surprise there are so many various methods and products you can buy that can help to make you feel that little more calm. Today I’d thought I’d share some of my at home remedies that you can give a try whenever you are feeling stressed or anxious.

Please remember that these are things I have tried myself, and just because something has worked for me doesnt mean they will work for you. We are all different and our bodies and minds all work differently. And similarly, if you are past the point where you think an at home remedy wont help, then seek professional help. There are tonnes of resources out there to help if you are too anxious and stressed, please don’t suffer in silence. Here are some helpful recourses:

Let’s get into it!

LAVENDER

Lavender is amazing as it comes in various different forms. Lavender is proven to help with mood imbalances such as anxiety, insomnia and if you’ve ever had a “nervous stomach” it can be really helpful for that too. You can get lavender in various forms such as:

  • Lavender infused oil
  • Lotion bars
  • Face & body cream
  • Hand scrub
  • Balms

The most popular thing lavender is used for is to help aid sleep, and believe me it works wonders. Whenever I’m having struggling time where I’m finding it hard to get sleep, I rub lavender oil on my temples, neck and wrists and its the best sleep ever.

OIL DIFFUSERS

If you aren’t familiar with oil diffusers just do a quick google search and it will show you what they are! You fill up the diffuser with water and add your favourite essential oil into the water. Then you turn it on and it fills up any room with the beautiful aroma of whatever scent you added. I have had some great experience with oil diffusers and would say I prefer them to candles or oil burners, they’re better for you and better for the environment too! Oil diffusers can help with sleep, reducing stress and anxiety, body and mind relaxation and some can help boost your immune system.

HERBAL TEAS

Herbal teas are great to promote relaxation and improve mental health. Similarly to oil diffusers they also have a great benefit for your health too. Chamomile tea being one of the best teas you can drink, especially before bed which will help to promote natural sleep and also helps you to relax too, which in turn helps your mental health.

What things help you when you are stressed or anxious? Have you ever tried natural remedies?

I hope you try some of these ideas! I have tried them myself and some work, some don’t! Its all about trial and error!

  1. Loved the post. I am a kind of person who stresses over most of the things. And honestly speaking, Currently I am really stressed out because of my college assignments. But I try to calm myself by saying don’t worry, you’ll do it. Don’t stress out . Haha but thanks for sharing this. 😊😃

    1. I guess you need to put things into perspective sometimes. Like in years to come will this be important to me?
I know college work is important, especially if you need it to get a job you want, but remember everything is temporary! Nothing lasts forever 🙂
